This webinar series contains 4 sessions over September covering a range of useful topics relating to exporting to China. Check it out! 

Having kicked off this July, we continue to deliver a series of webinars about entering to China that you care most about from initial entry to expansion, from e-commerce to general trade, and to other useful knowledge and insights such as intellectual property protection and online supermarket market. 

 

To start this September, our partner eCargo, a China-based, full-service distributor and trader spanning both online and offline channels, will be presenting a two part webinar sessions 'Selling to China - an inside look' on 9th Sep and 16th Sep on Sales and Trading in China – focusing on helping SMEs cut through the opaqueness of the market and understand the options they have when entering China. They will show you the brand’s potential journey from market entry through to nationwide distribution.

 

On 22 September, the Intellectual Property Office’s China team will run another webinar for UK businesses and rights owners. Featuring guest speakers from Alibaba and law firm Gowling WLG, the session will provide practical tips on how best to protect and enforce your IP in China’s online and offline marketplaces.

 

Lastly, in the final week of September, our guest speaker from The Silk Initiative will be talking about online supermarkets in China, its the key trends and opportunities on the 28th September.

10:00 - 11:00 BST: Top Tips for SMEs: Protect and Enforce IP in China’s Online and Offline Markets

For this session, we will be joined by Mick Ryan, Director of Brand Protection, Platform Governance at Alibaba. Mick will introduce the Alibaba’s intellectual property protection portal (“IPP”), which covers all of the company’s platforms. He will also introduce the newly launched “Simp’Ali” tool, which enables SMEs to navigate and more easily use the IPP.  

The sessions will also feature Sophia Liu, Senior Associate at Gowling WLG. Sophia works on the frontline of IP enforcement in China, helping a wide range of foreign companies to protect their IP rights both online and offline. Click to watch the replay
