Welcome to Networking for a Net Zero Future

Electricity networks hold the key to decarbonisation of transport, heating and power. They will need to expand and transform over the next three decades to meet the necessary climate target of restricting global warming to 1.5 degrees.

Leading GB Transmission Owner and COP26 partner, SSEN Transmission and global specialists in HVDC technology,  Hitachi Energy, would like to invite you to the UK’s National HVDC Centre in Cumbernauld for a COP26 fringe event on 9th November 2021. This event will showcase innovations already delivered in the UK and internationally and provide a forum to discuss how we will meet the future challenges to reach Net Zero.

Innovation will be central to this transformation, including technologies such as highly efficient HVDC transmission, digitalisation of networks and low greenhouse gas solutions, supporting SSEN Transmission and Hitachi Energy’s ambitious science based emission reduction targets.

The hybrid event will feature a number of policy and technology talks and a panel discussion. Those attending in person will have an opportunity to tour the National HVDC centre that is at the heart of the UK’s HVDC network expansion plans.

The event will be held in parallel with the Science and Innovation themed day of COP26 on November 9th. In person attendees are limited and we would ask that you confirm your attendance no later than Friday 15 October.

We look forward to seeing you all at Networking for a Net Zero Future!
