This project is one of seven Prioritised Recovery Projects, part of a £2 million economic investment, funded by Barnsley Council and Sheffield City Region. As part of Barnsley’s Economic Recovery Action Plan, these projects will help the local economy bounce back from Covid. The programme aims to support people, businesses, traders, charities or community organisations to safeguard existing jobs as well as creating new jobs and businesses.

Enrolment is subject to an eligibility review and approval. Companies and/or individuals will need to be based in Barnsley to be able to access this support programme.  All enrolled businesses will have access to the capability building workshops and recordings. Eligible companies will be offered further access to free consultations with the workshop speakers and  programme associates. Any costs incurred outside of the scope of the programme consultations are not covered by this project and will be payable by the company. Free consultation is subject to availability/eligibility and intended for companies with scale up potential and job creation intentions. Participating individuals and/or companies will be expected to report outputs relating to this programme including projected job growth and sign documentation provided.

Support provided to your organisation through the Covid Bounce-Back Programme is considered to fall under the Small Amounts of Financial Assistance Allowance. This allowance is the equivalent of 325,000 Special Drawing Rights, (approx. £332,000 Sterling) to a single economic actor over any period of three fiscal years and includes any subsidy previously received as de minimis aid under the previous EU State Aid regime or as Small Amounts of Financial Assistance under Article 364(4) of the UK – EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) from any subsidy awarding body. The value of the subsidy intended to be provided to you under the Covid Bounce-Back Programme is forecast to be a maximum of £13,860 which at the current European conversion rate is €16,226. Please note, this the maximum a company can access as part of this programme. The average value of support will depend on the individual customer journey and development requirements. Upon registration you will be required to confirm that your organisation will not exceed the Small Amounts of Financial Assistance Allowance limit by accessing this programme.
