Be a part of the UK Pavilion

In the future...

how will we thrive?

Events at a glance

In January, the UK Pavilion will look at how technology is transforming healthcare and whether universal health is possible for all.

Healthcare and Life Sciences are going through unprecedented innovation and change. New technologies, big data and personalised healthcare mark a shift from managing disease to maintaining health.  DNA can be ‘edited’ to remove a disease; surgeons can practice procedures on 3D printed models and drones can collect blood samples from residents in rural villages. We will bring together healthcare experts to explore the impact of ongoing innovation in our global systems and whether we can help people to live longer, healthier and happier lives.

Topics that will be covered include:

  • Technology and precision medicine.

  • Remote healthcare and wearable technologies

  • Satellite technology and the use of data.

  • The growth of gene and cell therapies.

  • Global pandemic response

Global questions our programme will explore include:

  •  How can technology deliver better healthcare outcomes in future?

  • What are the legal and ethical challenges of future healthcare?

  • How long can we expect to live?

  • What will the operating theatre of the future look like?
