CANCELLATION POLICY

Whilst we understand we are still navigating uncertain times we plan our event based on the commitment from markets for global packages. For this reason, we will continue to charge a 100% cancellation fee for any package commitments as per previous years. For any market that is required to compete virtually this cost will go towards facilitating the virtual participation.

Guest name changes and substitutions may be made and will be managed on a case by case basis.

World Class Bartender of the Year Global Finals 2022 Awards -TBC

GLOBAL WINNER - TIMINGS

The Global Winner will be required to depart Saturday 17th September so they can participate in a World Class Cocktail Festival event on the evening of Friday 16th. The Global Winner will also be required to attend a content capture session (photography/videography) on Friday 16th. Please be prepared to change the return flight for your Finalist in this eventuality – accommodation and airport transfers in Sydney will be covered by the World Class GBT.

PARTNER / SPOUSE ATTENDANCE

We would like to remind everyone that attendance for Diageo delegates at the World Class Cocktail Festival and Global Finals 2022 is an official business event, and therefore partners / spouses / friends are asked not to stay in the rooms of the World Class guest where Diageo has made the room booking. This also applies to competing finalists.

INSURANCE

Please arrange your own Travel & Medical Insurance as this will not be provided by Diageo unless you are a Diageo employee. Please ensure that your policy covers medical needs, including coronavirus cancellation cover, for the duration of your trip (including travel time).

It is also important to put insurance cover in place for any personal items (such as iPads; cameras etc.)

Note: You will be asked to provide details of your insurance on arrival at registration at your hotel.

PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS

Your passport should be valid six months from date of entry in order to be allowed into Australia without any issues.

VISA & COVID ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

It is recommended that you check within your country of origin regarding specific visa and/or passport requirements.

Regulations apply when entering Australia and it is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct documentation prior to travelling. For full details on entering Australia, please refer to the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs website. If your Finalist is ineligible to enter Australia, they will be able to compete virtually from their home country. Further details to follow.

Please ensure that anyone entering your National Finals competition will be eligible for a visa to attend the Global Finals Competition in Sydney. Please note, should your national winner NOT be granted a visa, we will not be accepting second placed finalists – it is your responsibility to ensure you have a winner who can attend the Global Finals.

The World Class Events Team will be unable to organise visas on your behalf. However, they are able to assist in providing supporting documentation for visa applications.

Should you or your guest require documentation to support a visa application, please complete the relevant details as part of the registration process when it is available. The World Class Event Team will automatically request the appropriate invitation letter - this will be sent to you by separate email.

You are responsible for any fees incurred in order to secure your travel visa(s).

Diageo will not take responsibility for any costs incurred should you not have the correct entry requirements for Australia.

NOTE: It can take up to 5 working days to receive the above letters.

SUSTAINABILITY

World Class is proud to be working with all partners on its carbon footprint this year. We are aiming to keep the carbon impact of World Class 2022 as low as possible through meticulous planning around Production, Energy, Catering, Travel and Accommodation. By keeping sustainability top of mind and collecting as much data as possible, we will be able to invest in sustainable initiatives that offset our emissions and improve on our impact year on year.

What you can do to help:

• Offset your flight with the airline at the time of booking. If you do not have this option, World Class will offset on your behalf and the cost will be added to final cross charging.
• Use public transport to and from your home airport - if transfers are unavoidable, please plan to car pool or travel in groups
• Bring a refillable water bottle and reusable coffee cup with you
• Avoid products that contain single use plastic
• Discard your waste responsibly, using recycling bins

FORCE MAJEURE

If Diageo or any of its suppliers are prevented from delivering the World Class Cocktail Festival & Global Final 2022 programme by reason of act of God, fire, flood, hurricane, or other natural disaster, epidemic, pandemic, malicious injury, strikes, lock-outs, or other labour troubles, riots, insurrection, war or other reason of like nature not the fault of Diageo or its suppliers, then delivery of the programme shall be excused for the period of the delay and no refund of fees shall be available.
