UK Fashion and Beauty trade mission to India

26th February – 4th March 2023

First “Explorer” trade mission to India for the Fashion and Beauty industry.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is delighted to announce its first “Explorer” trade mission to India for the Fashion and Beauty industry, centred around the India Fashion Forum 2023, the nation’s leading international trade fair, taking place in Bengaluru (Bangalore) this coming Spring and continuing to Mumbai.

UK brands will have the opportunity to join DIT’s week-long trade mission from 26th February to 4th March 2023 which will coincide with one of the most influential fashion forums in India.

The mission is aimed at ambitious British Fashion and Beauty brands who are looking to grow in this vibrant market. It will provide a fantastic platform to showcase your brand and/or services to potential buyers, marketplaces and distributors in the region who will be looking for new and innovative brands.

India, with one of the largest populations in the world rivalling China, is one of the world's fastest-growing fashion and beauty markets.
S&P project that India’s annual nominal GDP growth will average 6.3% through 2030 making it the third largest economy in the World, overtaking Japan and Germany.

India's luxury market is having a moment. From 2010 to 2014, the country's luxury sector grew by a whopping 74 percent. In 2021, the Indian luxury goods market was valued at over $5 billion, and it is now expected to grow by another 10 percent over the next five years.

India’s economy has been recovering steadily from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, and its luxury sector is no exception. With a rise in luxury spending in both retail and travel, luxury sales have grown across multiple categories. (Robb Report 31 Oct 2022)
