Agritech Trade Mission to Türkiye

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is delighted to invite businesses from across the UK to submit an expression of interest to participate in a trade mission to Türkiye. The programme is designed for companies who operate in agriculture and agritech sectors.

Covid-19 pandemic and climate change has put agriculture on the forefront of governments’ agenda globally. Sustainable and efficient farming, i.e. ‘producing more with less’ has never become more important. In this regard, agricultural technologies offer novel and encouraging solutions to many of the challenges that agricultural businesses face.

The mission aims to bring together UK companies specialised in the following areas:
  • Precision technologies
  • Decision support systems
  • Smart irrigation technologies
  • New generation of farm robots, autonomous vehicles, devices
  • Greenhouse Technologies and controlled environment agriculture
  • Fertilisers and Plant growth stimulants
  • Soil health systems
  • Satellite technologies

About Türkiye

Türkiye is an important producer and exporter of agricultural produce globally. Türkiye is a leading producer of a wide range of products from hazelnuts, chestnuts to apricots, cherries, figs, olives, quince and tea, ranking as the 10th agricultural producer in the world. With 24 million hectares of cultivated land, Türkiye produces 117m tons of agricultural product, making the country the top producer in Europe.
 

About the programme

The precise programme is in development, and we will respond to participant interests as far as possible. It is expected the programme will include:
  • Virtual pre-visit training programme to prepare your business for the mission
  • In-market briefing including legal and regulatory considerations
  • Visit Growtech Antalya, the world’s largest greenhouse exhibition, held for the 22nd time.
  • B2B meetings with potential buyers at Growtech
  • Technical tour to producers in Antalya, one of the main locations for growing fresh produce in Türkiye.
  • Meeting with buyers and trade advisers from the EECAN region, e.g. Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan (TBC)
 

Who should attend?

The mission is suitable for companies new to market as well as those who have experience.
 

Costs

Delegation members will be required to pay for their own travel, subsistence and any additional hotel costs. There is no additional participation charge.
