Turkey is exploring the potential to develop offshore wind capacity. According to recent World Bank studies, Turkey has between 54 to 75GW offshore wind potential, mostly available for floating systems. Government’s target is 5GW by 2035.

On low-carbon hydrogen, there is a potential for market growth in Turkey.  The country has a strong, comprehensive, and relatively new natural gas infrastructure, which proves to be an advantage when considering hydrogen blending and repurposing of the existing natural gas pipelines. Turkey's main goals in hydrogen is to reduce the cost of green hydrogen production and to increase the electrolyser installed power capacity to 5GW in 2035.
South Marmara region, distinguished by its evolving industries and abundant resources, excels in the export of renewable energy technologies. It is home to Turkey’s inaugural hydrogen valley project and has been selected as the site for the country’s firsrt offshore wind farm.
