UK Higher Education/TNE mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The UK Department for Business and Trade is excited to announce a UK Higher Education/TNE mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in January 2025. The mission is open to UK universities and higher education institutions, who are looking to establish new – and deepen existing – partnerships with Saudi Arabia. We invite expressions of interest from UK organisations working in higher education to attend a HE/TNE mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 5-7 January 2025. The mission will be led by UK Government International Education Champion Professor Steve Smith, with officials from the Department for Business and Trade, Department for Education, and the British Council. The mission will continue to strengthen partnerships and collaboration between the UK and KSA in higher education, seek to increase the number of HE and TNE partnerships between UK and KSA institutions, and continue to support strong bilateral relations between the UK and KSA. Further details of the mission agenda will be shared with attending delegates following the completion of the EOI process.

World Expo 2025, Osaka, Japan

More than 28 million business, government and general public visitors are forecast to attend the 6-month World Expo taking place in Osaka, Japan from April to October 2025.

The over-arching theme for Expo 2025 Osaka is ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’, with three sub themes of Saving Lives, Empowering Lives and Connecting Lives. The UK Pavilion will be located in the ‘Saving Lives’ zone of the Expo site. The UK’s theme statement is ‘See Things Differently’ – capturing the UK's spirit and acting as a powerful invitation to international audiences to embrace fresh perspectives of the UK. HE TNE MISSION TO BRAZIL AND COLOMBIA

Event Dates - TBC) DBT Education team, in collaboration with local partners, is organizing a Higher Education mission to Brazil and Colombia in April 2025, aimed at fostering international collaboration through language policies, degree recognition, revalidation, and transnational education. This mission will offer UK institutions a unique opportunity to engage with key Brazilian and Colombian stakeholders in higher education.
