Join us at this webinar to gain an insight into how the Department for Business and Trade can help your business build its international capability to sell to the global chemical supply chain.
The Chemical industry plays a vital role in the global economy. In 2021 the industry’s total worldwide revenue amounted to some US$4.73 trillion, converting raw materials, such as fossil fuels, metals, minerals, and biomass into the thousands of products essential to modern life. All manufacturing sectors are in some way dependant on the products of the chemical sector.
Chemical products include bulk chemicals, used as building blocks for more complex molecules, and fine and speciality chemicals, which are used in consumer products such as personal care products, paints, pharmaceuticals, and many others. The United Kingdom has a well-developed speciality chemicals industry with companies producing many types of ingredients and formulated products for downstream industry. In 2022, the UK's chemical sector exported £31,513 million worth of goods to countries across the world.
