Aim: To provide an overwiev of issues related to falls in MS
 
Steps: Teaching course will present the following topics; it will start with the question about the balance problems in the earliest stages of MS. Followed by exploring the underlying psychological factors relevant to issues about falling/near falling in PwMS. Balance issues will be explored in depth. The teaching course will wrap up with presentations about how to prevent and how to manage falling.

Title of the teaching course: Upper Extremity & Modern technology

Venue: Gospodarsko razstavišče Ljubljana
Date: Thursday June 20, 2019
Time: 11.00 – 15.00

Aim: to provide an insight into the issues about rehabilitation of the upper limb by considering the use of modern technology
 
Steps: Teaching course will present following topics; starting with the motor control upper limb by considering pathophysiology of upper limb control. Followed by movement disorders in MS. It will continue with session about the role of trunk in the use of the upper limb and followed by robot-based arm therapy, including the presentation about clinical hand assessment tools. These presentations will set the stage to introduce an overview of current advanced robot rehabilitation systems with an emphasis on upper extremitity. Examples of the use of the ArmeoSpring and BIMEO will be presented.
