Robin Newman, Consultant Oceanographer, Fugro

Through integrated data acquisition, analysis and advice, we unlock insights from Geo-data to help our clients design, build and operate their assets in a safe, sustainable and efficient manner.

Robin Newman is a Consultant Oceanographer in Fugro’s Metocean division. He has supported offshore renewable energy projects for over two decades, acquiring, processing interpretating large, complex oceanographic and meteorological data sets to feed into project design, construction and operations. He was involved in the earliest data collection exercises to support the first offshore wind farm developments in the UK and has worked on all the subsequent rounds of offshore wind across the UK and extended this work to Europe the USA, Asia Pacific. In addition to his work in the offshore renewables industry Robin was one of the designers of the UK Oceanographic Coastal Monitoring Network, a programme designed to support the needs of coastal management and engineering.

Steve Bellew, Director, GoBe Consultants Ltd

GoBe is a UK based, independent environment and planning consultancy .  In the UK offshore wind sector we have provided strategic and technical advice to almost 30GW of offshore wind capacity over 35 individual projects.  Our experience reaches back to 2000 and the earliest Round 1 developments in UK waters and extends throughout the subsequent UK Rounds 2, 2.5 and 3 – and into the recently completed Round 4 and anticipated Scotwind processes.

Ferenc Kis, Renewable Energy Business Development Director, RSK Europe

Ferenc is a business development director at RSK responsible for developing the renewable energy services portfolio in the group. He works within the RSK’s European Business Development division, based in Hungary and covering mainly the Central Eastern European region.

Dr Paul Doherty, Managing Director, Gavin and Doherty Geosolutions Ltd.

Dr Paul Doherty is the Managing Director and founder of engineering consultancy, Gavin and Doherty Geosolutions, GDG. Paul is a geotechnical engineer by training with particular expertise in the delivery of offshore wind projects. Over the past decade Paul has worked on over 30GW of offshore wind installations around the world including projects in the Baltic Sea, North Sea, Irish Sea and across Asia. Paul has extensive knowledge of the offshore wind consenting and design processes, which he has used to support a range of clients including developers, contractors and OEMs. Paul leads a team of 100 staff including engineers, environmental scientists, and technical advisors.
