Dr. Salwa Abdulla Alsuwaidi

Dr. Salwa Alsuwaidi, a graduate of UAE University in 1997. Started her career in Dubai Health Authority (DHA) since 1999 to specialize in Internal Medicine. Currently holds MRCP (UK) and PhD Arab Board of Internal Medicine as well as a Post Graduate Diploma of Gerontology & Geriatrics from the University of Malta.

 

She was the first Emirati Geriatrician in DHA and had a great role in establishing the first geriatric unit in Rashid Hospital in Dubai in 2007. In addition, she was a pioneer in establishing the first Dubai rehabilitation centre for the elderly, taking care of all the responsibilities related to it as a Project Manager. Currently she is the Director of the Family Gathering center; that is a nursing home for the inpatients, and a day care centre for the out patients. Dr. Salwa was a member of many committees at DHA and had chaired some of them. Has excellent experience caring for elderly both at the acute hospital settings as well as at long stay facilities. An active member; attended many courses and conferences, and was a speaker in many of them, and represented DHA in many international conferences.

 

She had joined the Middle East Academy for the Medicine of Ageing (MEAMA) as a board member after completing 4 sessions in 2012. Dr. Salwa was a winner of the Emirates Women Award in 2012 for the category of Financial & Strategic Planning. She was a winner of Shamsa Bint Suhail Award for creative women in 2013. She was shortlisted for the final stage of Dubai Government Excellency Program in 2014 for the category of Distinguished Female Employee. Moreover, she received Medal Pride of UAE in 2014 as part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Government Performance. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   
   

 

Dr. Hanan Sheikh Ibrahim

Dr. Ibrahim is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, a consultant physician and a Quality Officer with Academic Lead at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi 

She was trained at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Palmer, concept originator of the Acute Care of Elderly unit which was modeled internationally. Then she pioneered in the geriatric care in the UAE by establishing the first MACE unit and the first Geriatric Core Curriculum for resident physicians in training 

Dr. Ibrahim received her MD from Damascus University, Syria where she specialized in Pulmonary Medicine then she moved to US where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. 

She completed her Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio. She is board certified in internal & Geriatrics medicine.

Dr. Sultan Alamri

Dr. Alamri obtained his degree in Medicine from King Abdulaziz University in 2005. He then completed Family Medicine Residency Program and later Geriatric Medicine fellowship through McMaster University in Canada in 2014.

 

He is currently an assistant professor and consultant in Geriatric Medicine for the faculty of medicine at King Abdulaziz University. In addition, he works as a part-time consultant in Geriatric Medicine for Doctor Soliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

 

Dr. Alamri serves as a secretary general and member of the board of directors of Saudi Geriatrics Society (SGS). He is also a member of the Advisory Committee for Geriatrics Services in the Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH).

Dr. Abdullah Alkhenizan

Dr. Abdullah Alkhenizan presently works as the Chairman of Department of Family Medicine and Polyclinics, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (General Organization) –Riyadh.  He has concurrent assignments in this Institution which include Chairman, Evidence Based Practice Committee.  Dr. Alkhenizan contributed as the principal investigator for the Canadian Task Force for Preventive Health Care Services' guidelines.  Dr. Alkhenizan is a member of the Scientific Council for Family Medicine in the Saudi Council for Health Services since 2010.

 

Dr. Alkhenizan career focused in the fields of Family Medicine and Geriatrics with a special interest in the field of Dementia.  Dr. Alkhenizan holds the academic title of Professor at Alfaisal University, Riyadh.

 

For his postgraduate training, Dr. Alkhenizan completed the Family and Community Medicine Program and the Clinical Epidemiology Program at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

 

He also holds a Master’s Degree in Health Systems and Quality Management and a Master Degree in Medical Law and Ethics, The Law School, University of Edinburgh.

 

Dr. Alkhenizan is a co-author of two books about EBP, and published more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals including several papers in the field of EBP, clinical research, Meta-analysis, and accreditation (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=Alkhenizan).

Dr. Haitham is a graduate from Faculty of Medicine from Ain-Shams University, where he stayed to specialize in Geriatrics. In 2013 he joined DHA and currently holds MRCO UK (London), MRCP SCE Geristrics and Master degree in Geriatrics Medicine and Gerontology. Dr. Saeed Abdulla is a clinical pharmacist at Zayed Military Hospital with more than nineteen years of experience in both outpatient and inpatient setting.  He has graduated from the faculty of pharmacy and obtained his master’s in clinical pharmacy Ajman University, and another master’s in public administration from Mohamed Bin Rashid School of government. He holds the American boards in 1) Oncology 2) Pharmacotherapy 3) intensive care board 4) infectious disease and he is an Antimicrobial Stewardship enthusiast and PhD researcher at Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University.
