Criteria for inspector candidates

In order to be admitted to the course as an inspector candidate, participants must meet the criteria to be an inspector described here. If you have any doubts or questions about the criteria, please contact the JACIE Office at inspectors@ebmt.org

Note: Registration via this web page does not guarantee a place on the course. JACIE reserves the right of admission to the course. You may not be admitted to the course if you do not satisfy JACIE that your training and experience are sufficient. JACIE may request advice from national contacts when deciding whether to admit a candidate to the course.

Experts who have retired or who are close to retirement may serve as JACIE Inspectors for up to 5 years after retirement.

In addition, please note that as an inspector, there is no guarantee that you will be approached to inspect. This is because JACIE assigns inspectors taking into account: - Area of expertise - may already be more than covered; Languages spoken to B2 level; inspections are typically in the language of the centre; Distance from inspection site - the time and cost of travel is taken into account; Potential conflicts of interest

Documentation required from inspector candidates

Following registration, the JACIE Office will contact you to ask for the following documents:

  • Concise copy of your CV, in English
  • Inspector registration form (complete the online form here)
  • Evidence of qualifications e.g. medical degree, registration as specialist. Medical, Nursing and Scientific Candidates who are listed as members of an EBMT member centres will not be required to provide this documentation. Check membership at www.ebmt.org
