Delegates will be invited to hear more about opportunities available in the region, which will include an overview of how the West Midlands Growth Company can support businesses entering into the UK market with a bespoke soft-landing support package.

Precision Medicine and Medtech in Wales
Wales stands out in the UK for its strengths in precision medicine and medtech. Wales has over 13,000 skilled professionals across 300 life science companies and a robust industry turnover of £2.8bn, with recognised strengths in medtech, diagnostics, neurosciences, genomics, and cell therapy. Cardiff is a recognised Centre of Excellence for Precision Medicine within the UK with a strong track record of partnering with business.
Wales is committed to building and expanding on its foundation of excellence in clinical research and industry partnership offering a wide range of exciting opportunities for companies to invest and grow their business in Wales. We offer access to a collaborative and supportive life sciences ecosystem with established clusters of excellence in high-growth markets including, in vitro diagnostic, single use technology, wound care and precision medicine.
With this in mind, the UK’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Welsh Government are pleased to welcome Nordic and Baltic companies to Wales to showcase the business and innovation opportunities that lie within the Precision Medicine and medtech sector.
What will the visit to Wales include:
The visit can be tailored to the companies that join the delegation to include visits or introductions to key industry centres of excellence and innovation hubs such as the Wales Genomic Health Centre, Cardiff Edge Science Park, Cardiff Medi Centre, PDR (providing internationally acclaimed medical device design expertise), the Tritech Institute (real world evaluation of health technology), the Assistive Technologies Innovation Centre (ATIC), Institute of Life Sciences, or Centre for Nanohealth.
Delegates will also meet with key organisations supporting companies to grow and identify business opportunities in Wales including Medi Wales, the Life Sciences Hub Wales and Welsh Government where they will learn about navigating the ecosystem in Wales. The programme will also seek to include B2B opportunities.
