Julian Bray is Editor-in-Chief of TradeWinds, the shipping business news publisher which since its launch 25 years ago has become a reference point for decision makers in the industry. During a career in business journalism, he has won awards for both reporting and editing and built a track record of product innovation having lead numerous newspaper, magazine and website launches and relaunches. In addition to his specialist knowledge of maritime commerce, he has also been a Correspondent for the Reuters news agency, written for national newspapers and magazines, and made television and radio appearances. Away from the office, a love of the natural work often takes him to wild and mountainous regions to walk, cycle, climb and watch wildlife with family and friends. He also has a passionate interest in politics, culture and music.
 
Richard Gilmore

Maran Gas Maritime
Richard Gilmore is Director Gas Fleet for Maran Gas Maritime Inc., the LNG shipping unit of the Angelicoussis Shipping Group Limited. Maran has 29 LNG ships in operation, with 16 LNG ships plus 1 FSRU under construction. Mr. Gilmore’s career in the LNG shipping industry spans over 30 years, covering LNG ship design and construction, operations, and finance. At Maran, Mr. Gilmore oversees the management of the gas fleet and participates in the new business development activities. Richard Gilmore received a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture from Webb Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Yiota Gousas holds an Arts Humanities degree from LA Trobe University of Melbourne with majors in European History and Literature. She began working in Melbourne as a radio and newspaper journalist in 1992, covering politics and the arts and in 2001 upon arriving in Athens Greece launched into the shipping sector as a journalist for TradeWinds, where she operated for 11 years. In January 2012 she changed her path to become a Sale and Purchase broker for RS Platou and from 2015 she has been in Golden Destiny ‘s S&P team as a Senior broker.
 
Mark Jackson

Mark Jackson was appointed the CEO of the Baltic Exchange in February 2017. He originally served on the board of the Baltic Exchange from 2004 to 2012 and as its Chairman from 2009. Mark has over 37 years of shipping industry experience having started his shipping career as a trainee in 1981 in Sydney, Australia. Mark first traded freight derivatives in 1987 and extensively used FFAs as part of a physical trading strategy. The London headquartered Baltic Exchange is an international provider of benchmark rates for the bulk shipping industry and as a membership organisation has over 650 shipowning, chartering and shipbroking companies who adhere to a code of conduct. The Singapore Exchange acquired the Baltic Exchange in 2016 and Mark is focused on building its London presence and broadening its Asia footprint.

Mr Vasilis Kakoulidis is the Managing Director of OINO Shipbrokers Co Ltd currently employing 70 employees in Athens, Singapore, Seoul and Melbourne , engaged in chartering, sale & purchase as well as insurance brokering. Mr Kakoulidis studied Business Administration in Friedrich Alexander Universitaet, Nurnberg (Diplom Kaufmann). He is married with Erifyli Tsironi and has three children.

Mr. Jerry Kalogiratos currently serves as Director of Capital Gas Corp. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Capital Product Partners L.P. (NASDAQ: CPLP’), and as member of the board of Diamond S Shipping Inc (NYSE: DSSI). He has previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of CPLP. Mr. Kalogiratos has also served as Chief Financial Officer and Director of NYSE listed Crude Carriers Corp before its merger with CPLP in September 2011. He has over 16 years of experience in the shipping and finance industries, specializing in private equity, vessel acquisitions and projects and shipping finance. Mr Kalogiratos has led numerous transactions in the tanker, LNG, dry bulk and container segments. Before joining Capital Maritime, he worked in equity sales in Greece. He completed his MA in ‘European Economics and Politics’ at the Humboldt University in Berlin and holds a B.A. degree in ‘Politics, Philosophy and Economics’ from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom and an ‘Executive Finance’ degree from the London Business School.
 
Angelica Kemene

Angelica leads the Market Analysis & Intelligence department of Optima Shipping Services advising clients around the world on shipping and financial markets developments, assisting them with shipping investment, strategy and chartering decisions. Meantime, in 2019 she co-founded and manages Optima-X, a maritime innovation hub in Athens, hosting the Enso XL accelerator for startups related to the MaritimeTech. She holds 12 years of active experience in the shipping market and has travelled extensively to meet and participate with industry professionals in conferences around the world. During her professional experience, she has been involved in analyzing various traded commodity movements and their future performance related to the shipping industry in ICAP Plc, London. Before joining ICAP plc she worked for the Baltic Exchange Derivatives Trading Ltd, a subsidiary of the Baltic Exchange in London, in the Market Surveillance team on FFA trades. She has partnered with Monte Nero Capital Advisory on an ad hoc basis as a Business Associate in Investor Relations. She also gained experience as a Commercial Shipping Analyst with Trafigura Beheer B.V. Following a degree in Shipping, she went on to earn an MSc in Mathematical Trading and Finance from CASS Business School in London and she enhanced her education with Python programming, Digital Marketing and Data Science certificates.
 
George Lazaridis

Mr. George Lazaridis is the head of the Market Research and Valuations department at Allied Shipbroking Inc, a position he has held since 2014. He has been involved in shipping market research and ship valuations since 2009, over which period he has accumulated an in-depth knowledge and experience in adverse and volatile shipping market conditions with specific expertise in the Sale and Purchase markets. Over this 10 year period he has acted numerous times as a consultant for numerous financiers, ship owners and other market participants. Prior to his role as research analyst, he had worked in several operational areas of shipping, including bunkering and crewing services both in Greece and abroad. He is a holder of a BSc degree in Economics from Brunel University in London with special focus in International Trade, as well as an MSc degree in Maritime Transport with Management from Newcastle University. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and the International Association of Maritime Economists.
 
Alexander Panagopulos

Mr. Panagopulos is Chairman and Founder of Forward Ships, a company founded by Mr. Panagopulos in 2016 with the mission to build, own, and operate the cleanest, and most efficient LNG-fueled fleet of cargo ships in the world (www.forwardships.com). Mr. Panagopulos (51) co-founded Superfast Ferries in 1993 under Attica Group, a Greek-listed entity which was controlled by the Panagopulos family. As CEO of Superfast Ferries and the Attica Group, he engaged and successfully completed the design and construction of 17 passenger ferry newbuildings in shipyards in Germany, Finland, Holland and Korea, an orderbook of over €1.5b, and led the successful expansion of Attica Group into a 25-vessel and 5-million-passenger-a-year company with routes in Greece, Italy, Finland, Germany, Scotland, and Belgium. In 2006 he closed the sale of Attica Group’s Baltic Sea operations and in 2007, following the sale of the family's participation in Attica Group, he founded Arista Group to focus on identifying attractive investment opportunities in various sectors with emphasis on shipping. Alexander Panagopulos is a member of the American Bureau of Shipping (“ABS”) Greek National Committee and the Lloyd’s Register Hellenic Advisory Committee and has also served on the Det Norske Veritas (“DNV”) Technical Ferry Committee. Mr. Panagopulos was honored to be elected and to have served for eight years in the position of Chairman of the High Level Ferry Group of ECSA (European Community Shipowners' Association based in Brussels), and on the Board and as a President of Interferry, the international association representing passenger ferry ship operators worldwide. An avid skipper himself, Mr. Panagopulos developed his passion for ships and the sea with the California-based Royal Cruise Line, the cruise company founded by his father Pericles in 1972. Mr. Panagopulos has pursued innovation in the fields of shipbuilding and environmental technology and has sponsored a number of philanthropic events, including donations for natural disasters and conservation of wildlife.

Alexandre joined Pictet & Cie in 1997 as a senior equity analyst covering the Japanese market and comanaging the bank'sJapanese Equity Fund. After heading Pictet's Buy Side Research, Alexandre brought the Advisory Products & Research team to maturity before returning to co-head Portfolio Management & Equity Research. He has been a member of the Wealth Management Investment Committee from 2004 to 2014. From January 2017, Alexandre is Global Strategist and Head of the CIO Office. Prior to joining Pictet, Alexandre worked at Wako Finance, Lehman Brothers and spent three years with Ferrier Lullin as a senior equity analyst and fund manager on the Japanese market. Alexandre holds a CFPI diploma and studied literature at the University of Lausanne.
 
Nikolas Tsakos

Mr. Nikolas P. Tsakos is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN), a pioneering shipping company, established 26 years ago and quoted on the New York Stock Exchange. He comes from a traditional Chios seafaring family and has extensive seagoing experience, having also served as an Officer in the Greek Navy. Mr. Tsakos was the Chairman of INTERTANKO from 2014 to 2018 and the former President of the environmental organisation “HELMEPA”. He sits on the boards of a number of maritime and finance organisations and associations. Nikolas graduated from Columbia University in New York with a degree in Economics and Political Science and obtained a Master’s Degree in Shipping, Trade and Finance from London’s City University Business School (CASS). In 2011, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from City University, for his pioneering work in the equity financial markets relating to shipping companies. He is married and has three children.
