Jill Morris, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Italy and San Marino

Jill Morris CMG was appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Italian Republic and Her Majesty’s non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of San Marino. She took up her appointment during July 2016 and in February 2019 she became the Overseas Network Representative on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Management Board.

Enrico Giovannini, Italian Minister for Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility

Appointed Minister on 13 February 2021. Economist, statistician and academic. Full professor (on leave) of economic statistics at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", where he taught Statistics and Analysis and Policies for Sustainable Development.Chief Statistician of the OECD from 2001 to August 2009. President of ISTAT from August 2009 to April 2013. Minister of Labour and Social Policies from 2013 to 2014. He is the co-founder of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS), a network of more than 290 subjects of Italian civil society, of which he was spokeperson until 13 February 2021. Until January 2021 he was President of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board, member of the Executive Board of the Club of Rome, of the Global Happiness Council, Chairman of the Committee for the Report on the Economy Not Observed and Tax Evasion of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and member of the Scientific Committee of the Parliamentary Budget Office. From May 2020 he is responsible for the Futura Network project.

Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Transport

The Rt Hon Grant Shapps was appointed Secretary of State for Transport on 24 July 2019. He was Minister of State at Department for International Development from 11 May 2015 until 28 November 2015. He was elected the Conservative MP for Welwyn Hatfield in 2005.

Ben Greenwood, British Consul General and DIT Italy Director

Ben Greenwood is HM Acting Consul General Milan and Director DIT Italy.

He was head of Trade Policy in China and has a background in the former Soviet Union, having worked in Russia and Uzbekistan.

Ben speaks Russian and Mandarin.

He is married to Firuza and they have three children, Oscar and twins, Alicia and Nicholas.

Dr. Christina Garcia Duffy, Head of Technology Strategy & Integration, Aerospace Technology Institute

Dr Cristina Garcia Duffy is Head of Technology at the ATI with accountability for the Institute’s sustainability agenda. This seeks to address the impact of aerospace on environment via R&T investments in technology solutions improving aircraft lifecycle emissions, noise, materials and waste. The ATI’s sustainability framework is set out in the Institute’s INSIGHT paper.

Prior to joining the ATI in 2014, Cristina held various management positions within the R&T department at Leonardo Helicopters. She was part of the skunkworks team which delivered Project Zero, the world’s first all-electric autonomous tilt-rotor demonstrator aircraft. The demonstrator has been recognised with awards including the AgustaWestland and Finmeccanica Innovation Award in 2012, the American Helicopter Society Grover E. Bell Award in 2014, and the Royal Aeronautical Society Team Gold Medal award in 2014.

Cristina holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and an MSc and BSc in Aerospace Engineering from Saint Louis University, both in the USA.

Andrea Marotta, Air Transport Regulation and Environment Director, ENAC – Italian Civil Aviation Authority

Andrea Marotta was born in Naples in 1970. He is currently Director of ENAC's Air Transport & Environment Regulation Department, responsible for elaborating regulatory requirements proposals and operational standards in compliance with EU and international regulations. Areas covered relate to operating licences, authorisations and commercial air transport services, air transport and airport management economic-administrative issues, rights protection and service quality, with special attention to environmental protection and the provision of the National Plan for the reduction of CO2 emissions.

Graduated in Law at the University of Naples "Federico II" and qualified as a lawyer at the Court of Appeal of Naples.

He specialises in Civil Law, with a postgraduate diploma in European Studies from the Alcide de Gasperi Institute of European Studies in Rome and a PhD in Legal Sciences and Theory of Law from the Italian Institute of Human Sciences, Advanced School of European Studies.

He started his activity in the Public Administration in 2000 as an expert in EU law and Competition at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Treasury Department.

He has also collaborated in the drafting of texts and articles on Competition in Europe with particular reference to State aid.

Stuart Hatch, Head of Aerospace & Space, DIT

Stuart leads the Aerospace and Space teams within the Department for International Trade, internationalising domestic capability in the sectors, securing inward investment and shaping trade policy to ensure the sectors continue to grow, thrive and deliver prosperity across the UK. He is a member of the Aerospace Growth Partnership Strategy Group and sits on the Board of the Space Growth Partnership working closely with industry, academia and partners in Government to deliver our shared agenda and champion international trade.

Mark Bentall, Head of Operations for Technology, Airbus

Mark Bentall has been working for Airbus for over 20 years and is currently Head of Operations for Technology.

As part of the Technology team Mark’s mission is the operational delivery of the Technology mission, objectives and targets including the R&T governance to ensure appropriate implementation, maintenance and analysis of the R&T portfolio by ensuring the R&T decision makers have the best information available in the right time.

Additionally the Head of Operations function provides the core competence, tooling, capability and environment to develop new concepts requiring eco-system evolution or new eco systems. Develop, grow and partner for new capabilities to secure the future in the area of Electrification. Acquire funding to establish and maintain external research collaborations with key partners. Scout Airbus and adjacent industries for positioning, innovative ideas, partnerships, technology, etc. On behalf of the group the Head of Operations for Technology also manages the Airbus innovation governance.

In previous roles Mark was Head of Technology, Development and Innovation for Airbus Defence and Space : Engineering, consolidating and coordinating the divisional product portfolio and R&D plan for the ExCom and providing independent technical insight. Head of the Group Innovations Research Centre for Communications and Automatic Flight, responsible for Airbus group-wide Communications Roadmap and created and ran the Airbus Defence & Space Technical Office.

Lorenzo Lagorio, Country Manager Italy, easyJet

Lorenzo has been Country Manager since the end of 2018 with the task of leading the Company's strategy in Italy.  

He joined easyJet in 2008 as Human Resources Manager for Italy where he established strong industrial relations and negotiated the collective agreements applied to pilots and flight attendants. He then took on responsibility for Human Resources in Southern Europe and in 2016 left Italy for the London Luton headquarters, where he became Head of HR for Flight Operations and Onboard Services Group-wide.

Fabio Lazzerini, CEO, ITA Italia Trasporto Aereo

Fabio Maria Lazzerini is the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Italia Trasporto Aereo S.p.A., the company incorporated in 2020 by the Italian Government with the scope to create a new national airline. Born in 1964, graduated in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing at Bocconi University in Milan, Lazzerini has been Chief Business Officer at Alitalia. He has held the position of Board Member at ENIT, the Italian Tourism Agency, and of General Manager for Italy at Emirates. He was before Chief Executive Officer and General Manager at Amadeus Italy.

Carmine Orsi, SVP Innovation & Research, Leonardo Aircraft Division

Carmine Orsi is today Head of Research, Innovation & New Regional Program at Leonardo SpA (Aircraft Division). He has been furthermore Member of GIE ATR Board.

Born in 1953 and Graduated in Electrical Engineering from Università degli Studi “Federico II” in Naples, since early ‘90ties Ing. Orsi’s professional path has seen a huge sequence of high level positions in the regional aircraft business in ATR as well as in the former Alenia Aeronautica structure.

Among them Orsi has been ATR Systems & Power Plant Director, Head of Product Support ILS/LSA for ATR and Dornier regional aircraft families, later on Head Of Airworthiness Office and Vice President Engineering to further on reach the position of Senior Vice President Technical (CTO) managing Flight Testing line, Design Office and Flight Safety & Airworthiness in GIE ATR in Toulouse (France).

Jason Sutcliffe, EMEA Regional Marketing Director, Rolls Royce

Jason joined Rolls-Royce in 2006 as a Fleet Planner in the newly formed Operations Centre in Derby. After three years and following a one year secondment with Singapore Airlines, Jason undertook a position in East Hartford USA as the Customer Fleet Director with International Aero Engines (IAE), Jason was responsible for the day-to-day management of the V2500 engine fleet in the Middle East. In 2012 Jason returned to the UK to take up the position of Marketing Director for Rolls-Royce, playing a customer relationship role in both the Target and Sales phases. In 2017 Jason moved to the UAE as the Regional Marketing Director for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Central Asia. Prior to joining Rolls-Royce, Jason spent 19 years in the British Royal Air Force as an Aircraft Engineer.
