Why the UK?

The UK is a global leader in the transition to greener energy, and we work with governments and businesses across the world to address the challenges brought about by climate change.

With 14GW capacity already installed, the UK has some of the world's largest operational wind farms. The UK has the ambition to deploy up to 50GW by 2030, with up to 5GW coming from floating offshore wind.

The UK’s strength in offshore wind can be attributed to its early commitment to renewable energy – it has benefitted from the establishment of a strong regulatory environment, making strategic investments, developing policies to incentivise projects and supporting technological advancements as well as the favourable environmental conditions in its coastal areas.

Strong partnerships between government, industry, and research institutions have played a crucial role in fostering innovation and expanding offshore wind capacity.
