Estonia and Latvia Offshore Wind Sector

UK Roadshow 2024

With 34% of all global capacity and major collaborations with Europe’s largest energy companies, the UK is the leading offshore wind player in Europe. The UK and its partners are turning the North Sea into Europe’s largest climate-neutral energy source.

British Embassies in Tallinn and Riga in cooperation with Aberdeen International Associates (AIA) will host a roadshow for Estonian and Latvian stakeholders to learn more about the UK offshore wind expertise and how it can support upcoming projects in the Baltic States. 

Stakeholders and topics to be covered by the visit are likely to include:

  • Government bodies
  • Ports
  • Developers 
  • Industry Clusters
  • Innovation Centres
  • R&D and Academia
  • Training and Workforce Development
  • Legal and/or Consulting Firms
  • Networking event/s

The roadshow itinerary includes the following UK regions:

  • Scotland
    Monday, 4 March
  • North East England
    Tuesday, 5 March
  • North East England
    Wednesday, 6 March
  • Yorkshire and the Humber
    Thursday, 7 March

This is the fifth edition of the UK roadshow, which started in March 2022 with a mission to Scotland led by His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia, Mr Ross Allen.

This was followed by a UK Offshore Wind Industry Mission to the Baltics led by His Majesty's Trade Commissioner to Europe Chris Barton in November 2022.

There were two roadshows also in 2023. Estonian and Latvian joint Offshore Wind roadshow to the UK that took place in March 2023 with visits to North East England, Southern Scotland and North East Scotland. And November 2023 UK Offshore Wind visit to the Baltics.

The upcoming visit seeks to cement relationships that have been established over the last 2 years, as well as introducing additional UK stakeholders to the group from Estonia and Latvia.

Detailed agenda will be provided to the delegates 2 weeks prior to the roadshow.
