UK Government at COP28

Bankers for Net Zero (B4NZ)

Bankers for Net Zero is a global non-profit initiative that sits at the nexus of industry commitments, policy development, regulation, business and civil society, enabling the private sector to act with maximum impact and purpose in the journey to net zero.

We do this by combining different areas of expertise – business, banking and policy – with a collaborative approach grounded in multi-stakeholder conversations designed to allow ambitious thinking to flourish.

As the UK Country Chapter of the UN-Convened Net Zero Banking Alliance, part of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), we are delighted to partner with the UK Pavilion at COP28 to demonstrate UK leadership on the global stage and represent the transformative ambition of our diverse coalition of members and partners.

National Grid

National Grid lies at the heart of a transforming energy system, spanning the UK and the US. We play a vital role in connecting millions of people to the energy they use safely, reliably and efficiently. We also drive change through engineering innovation and by incubating new ideas with the power to revolutionise our industry.

National Grid is pioneering ways to decarbonise the energy system; from building interconnectors to allow the UK to share clean energy with our neighbours in Europe, to investing in renewable energy generation in the United States. As one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the world, National Grid is at the centre of a clean, fair and affordable energy future, where tackling climate change and reaching net zero is a key priority.

We are proud to sponsor the UK Pavilion and demonstrate our continued commitment to delivering net zero.

Octopus Energy

Octopus Energy is a global energy and technology group, driving the affordable, green energy system of the future. The energy provider has grown from zero to twenty billion dollars of revenue in eight years.

Octopus is now the UK’s largest electricity company and is rapidly growing around the world. It serves 7.2 million customers globally through its energy supply arm which has operations in 17 countries and operates a £6bn portfolio of renewable energy assets across Europe.

Its relentless focus on customers, delivered through constant technology innovation, is changing how governments and regulators think about the energy transition. It has created a brand that customers love.

PwC

With offices in 152 countries, PwC is among the leading professional services networks in the world. We work with organisations and individuals to help them build trust with their stakeholders and address their toughest challenges.

We are taking action to achieve our own net zero commitment and are helping clients to transform their business to be net zero and nature positive, as well as manage climate and nature risk.

With global reach, broad industry coverage, and nearly 328,000 people supporting clients around the world – from reshaping strategy to deals, reporting, audit, and tax – we have a huge opportunity to help accelerate progress on climate and nature.

We are proud to sponsor the UK Pavilion at COP28.

Reckitt

Reckitt exists to protect, heal and nurture in the pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world. We are the company behind some of the world’s most recognizable and trusted consumer brands in health and hygiene, and every day, more than 30 million Reckitt products are bought around the world.

We’ve pledged to reach net zero by 2040, and by 2030 to power our operations with 100% renewable electricity and reduce our product carbon footprint by half.

We have been championing the need to elevate and unify conversations on climate and health and are delighted that health will have a formal place on the agenda for COP28.

SSE

SSE’s purpose is to provide the energy needed today while building a better world of energy for tomorrow. We do this by developing, building, operating and investing in world-class electricity infrastructure that is vital to the clean energy transition, including onshore and offshore wind, hydro power, electricity networks, lower-carbon power stations, carbon capture and hydrogen storage, solar and batteries, as well as providing energy products and services for businesses and customers.

A UK FTSE-100 company, SSE has a growing presence in selected international markets. Our strategy is tackling climate change, providing greater energy security and addressing concerns about affordability. We are also acutely aware that our actions need to be sustainable for nature and people and were the first company in the world to develop a Just Transition Strategy.

Sponsoring the UK Pavilion at COP28 is important for us as we recognise the need for collaboration with our stakeholders across the world, to facilitate the achievement of shared objectives.
