Conference Social Events
There will be a full programme of social events at the Communication Matters International Conference, and delegates will be able to enjoy a glass or two of their favourite tipple in the bar which will open until late.
All delegates are invited to drinks reception at the Communication Matters Exhibition Opening from 17.30-18.30 on Sunday in the Exhibition Hall (Parkinson Building), followed by a buffet dinner in the Refectory (at 18.30) and entertainment from 20.45 (in the Terrace Bar).
On Monday evening there will be a Drinks Reception (18.30-19.15) with music on the University Concourse followed by a Conference Dinner with further entertainment and DJ Oli!
Conference Dinner optional Fancy Dress: The Trustees and many others wear fancy dress for this event. You are encouraged to join in if you want to! The theme for 2024 is 'Empowerment' to fit with our conference theme.
The theme is intentionally open as we hope to see lots of different ideas! What does empowerment mean to you? You could dress up as your favourite superhero or someone you admire, someone who has empowered others, or something that is meaningful to your own empowerment!
Please think sustainably and help us to reduce, reuse, recycle and say no to fast fashion. Have a dig through your wardrobe, or at a local charity shop, or why not see if you can borrow something from family/friends – they might just have the perfect item!
Get Tweeting throughout the Conference. Use the hashtag #CM2024conf and tag @Comm_Matters. Tweet what you've learnt and share other delegates' and presenters' tweets!
