When and where will the Summit take place?

Breakthrough Energy Summit will be held at the Tobacco Dock in London, England (UK) on June 25–27, 2024.

Who will attend?

Invited guests include entrepreneurs, innovators, business leaders, policymakers, media, as well as leaders from Breakthrough Energy. The directory of registered attendees will be made available soon, updated on a weekly basis. Messaging and the ability to schedule meetings with other attendees will be released as part of our mobile app, available in early June. An email will be sent to all registrants announcing when the app is available for download.

What can I expect during the Summit?

Attendees will have two and a half days of exclusive learning and networking opportunities across a broad array of topics that are most critical to driving our net-zero future. Specific session topics will be released in the coming weeks.  

Will there be a mobile app for the event?

Yes. Once the mobile app is live in early June, all registered attendees will receive an email prompting them to download the app. In the mobile app, you will have the opportunity to network with other attendees based on interests, view a full attendee list, build your personal schedule, and more. For an optimal experience, we strongly advise all attendees to download the app.

Will there be on-demand or livestream session content?

Select session content will be recorded and shared with the registrants, but will not be broadcast via livestream.

Can I cancel or modify my registration?

Yes. To edit registration details, log in here to your previously submitted information, update the necessary field(s), and resubmit. If you are unable to attend the event, please notify via email: breakthroughsummit@breakthroughenergy.org

What should I wear?

The official Summit attire is business casual for all events. Based on the nature of the venue and its historic features (i.e. cobblestone flooring and indoor/outdoor areas), it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and clothing for all weather conditions.

Will the media be present at the event?

Our guests include a select group of well-regarded journalists in attendance to learn more about the Breakthrough Energy network and partners. All media will be clearly identified as Media by their attendee badge. 

Should I attend the Opening Reception: A Night of Innovation on Tuesday evening?

This evening reception will be the primary opportunity for attendees to network 1:1 with Breakthrough Energy Venture companies and their exhibit booths. This must-attend event will feature exciting entertainment, unique food and beverage offerings, and exclusive event announcements. Don’t miss it!

I have special dietary requirements that need to be accommodated while I’m attending the Summit.

We strive to accommodate all food allergies and dietary restrictions. Please note your special dietary requirements in the registration form. For additional needs not listed in your registration or updates to your existing registration, please email breakthroughsummit@breakthroughenergy.org.

I need access to a prayer or lactation room. Can I be accommodated?

Yes. Both a prayer room and lactation room will be available for the duration of the event. For additional needs not listed in your registration, please email breakthroughsummit@breakthroughenergy.org.

Will there be a coat or luggage check at the venue?

Yes. You are welcome to check your coat and any luggage near the main entrance of the venue.

Will there be photographers and videographers capturing content at the event?

Photography and videography will be captured throughout the duration of the event. By entering the event, you hereby consent to and authorize the event organizers the right to photograph you and to use such photographs for any promotional purposes. If you have concerns with this policy, please email breakthroughsummit@breakthroughenergy.org.

Are there any specific event restrictions for COVID-19?

There are currently no event restrictions regarding COVID-19. It is our primary goal to keep our guests' health top of mind and will implement any necessary biosafety measures, if needed.

Travel & Hotel Accommodations

Where should I stay?

Room blocks have been secured at a number of host hotels for your convenience. Once you’ve completed registration, click the link found in your confirmation email to review and book accommodations. Please note availability is limited.

What documentation do I need to enter the UK?

You must have a valid passport to enter the UK. You may also need a visa depending on which country you're traveling from. To check if you need a visa, click here.

Are there any COVID-related travel restrictions in the UK?

Per the latest guidance from the Department for Transport and Department of Health and Social Care in the UK, there are currently no COVID travel restrictions. 

If traveling through England, you do not need to take any COVID-19 tests before you travel or after you arrive, nor do you need to quarantine prior to attending. This applies regardless of vaccination status. Other countries may have restrictions in place for entering England and re-entering your residing country. We advise you to check the latest travel information for the country you are traveling from.

Will shuttles be provided to Summit?

Shuttles will be provided to and from all host hotels. Check back soon for more information on the detailed shuttle schedule. 

Where is the Tobacco Dock located?

Tobacco Dock is located in the heart of East London’s thriving enterprise zone, within walking distance of Central London with various access points. For transport options, go to our Travel page or visit Citymapper, a helpful navigation resource.

Where should I be dropped off at Tobacco Dock if I am taking a taxi or ride-share service?

The drop-off address is: 50 Porters Walk, London, E1W 2SF (Pennington Street, West Entrance, Tobacco Dock). There will be Breakthrough Energy Summit branded flags and traffic control along the street/walkway identifying the attendee entrance.

What is the weather like in London in late June?

Weather in London is typically around 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit or 20-25 degrees Celsius in late June. Don’t forget your umbrella — it’s typically rainy this time of year.

Will power converters be available at the event?

There will be a limited number of power converters available in specific areas across the venue. We recommend all attendees bring their own to ensure they are able to keep their devices charged.
