About the conference

Building on the success of last year’s event, we invite colleagues to join us on Thursday 14 November 2024 for the 3rd ‘Student Success in Taught Education – where are we now’ Conference to reflect on progress made over the last year and areas for development.

There will be a mixture of keynotes, panels, and parallel sessions on a variety of themes including

  • Understanding the lived experiences of under-represented groups to identify and address barriers
  • Facilitating an inclusive student experience
  • Using research and analysis to understand and shape systemic change
  • Academic support for our diverse communities
  • Designing authentic, holistic and inclusive curriculums for student success

Submissions

We are seeking papers/best practice examples that focus on interventions, systemic change, inclusive curriculum, and the student experience that link with the themes above. We invite colleagues to submit proposals to present at the conference via this online form by 30 June 2024. Further information is available on the call for papers page.

Presentation options include:

  • 5-minute snap session presentation followed by open Q&A
  • 10–15-minute presentation followed by 10–15-minute Q&A
  • Other format – please contact StudentSuccess@leeds.ac.uk with your idea!

The conference is charged at a 50% reduced fee for all speakers, and is free for all students and University of Leeds Staff speakers.

Hybrid Event

The conference will be held at Cloth Hall Court and delegates have the option to attend in person or virtually via hybrid technology. Therefore, please consider the following:

  • Presenters should provide content which is suitable for both an in person and hybrid audience
  • Workshop formats and interactive sessions must be adaptable for a hybrid audience, or a suitable alternative must be provided
