British Beauty mission to India

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is delighted to announce a Best of British beauty mission to Mumbai for Cosmoprof India, in December 2024. 

The mission is aimed at ambitious British beauty brands looking to grow in this vibrant market.

Now in its third year, Cosmoprof India provides a fantastic platform to showcase your brand and/or services to potential buyers, marketplaces and distributors in the region who are looking for new and innovative brands. 

Cosmoprof India, forms part of the global Cosmoprof brand including flagship Cosmoprof Bologna. In 2023 the India show hosted 450 exhibitors from 12 countries, and 9,000 visitors from 50 countries. 

India is one of the world's fastest-growing beauty markets (+16% growth 2015-2020 Statista) ranking in the top five for Beauty and Personal Care globally, worth over £25bn (Statista) with UK brands seen as an attractive proposition. Much of this growth has been driven by D2C (direct to consumer) e-commerce post COVID-19.

S&P Global and Morgan Stanley project that India’s annual nominal GDP growth will average 6.3% through 2030 making it the third largest economy in the world, overtaking Japan and Germany. 

Beauty brands are invited to apply for this opportunity. We are looking for a strong mix of companies from a cross-sector of the industry, particularly from businesses with sustainable and innovative solutions including;

• Men’s grooming 
• Fragrance 
• Beauty accessories 
• Skincare  
• Nail care 
• Cosmetics 

Criteria 

Turnover £1m+, export-ready, with an understanding of the opportunity and complexity of the Indian market. Ideally companies will have started investigating product registration. We are looking for an innovative product offer with a strong global social media following. 
 

The mission programme includes
 

• Three days exhibiting on the DBT Cosmoprof stand and access to Cosmoprof Match
• Mission support from HQ digital team and the retail team at the British High Commission 
• Exhibitor or visitor access to Cosmoprof India* 
• Tailored meeting and networking opportunities to meet major India retail and digital beauty partners
• Full market briefing with experts covering business considerations including certification, tariffs, IP, marketing, legal, cultural, digital, wholesale, and retail strategy
• Retail site visits including key mall and beauty concept stores 
• Networking reception 

Mission fees  

*£1000 +VAT per attendee

Please note: Travel & accommodation to be covered by delegates as well as any sample shipping costs. 

Spaces are limited and will be through invitation and application only. 

All delegates will have a pod on the DBT Cosmoprof stand for three days to showcase a capsule product offer and marketing material.
