CERIS Disaster Resilience Days 2026

 ABOUT

The Disaster Resilience Days 2026 is a three-day European forum bringing together researchers, policymakers, civil protection authorities, first responders, critical infrastructure operators, security and defence actors, industry, and innovators to strengthen disaster resilience and crisis preparedness through research, innovation and cooperation.

Organised within the framework of the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS) by the European Commission, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Sport and Integration, the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, and the Disaster Competence Network Austria, the event provides a platform for connecting European research and innovation with operational needs, policy priorities and emerging risks.

Against an increasingly complex and interconnected risk landscape, the Disaster Resilience Days 2026 will address both established and emerging challenges for European disaster management. The programme covers hybrid and emerging threats, artificial intelligence, disinformation and social media, critical infrastructure resilience, civil-military research and innovation, cultural heritage protection, and climate-related extremes including heat, drought and wildfires.

Through high-level and thematic panels, keynote presentations, breakout sessions, project showcases, demonstrations, excursions and networking opportunities, participants will explore how research results, innovative technologies and operational experience can be translated into practical solutions for prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.

Particular emphasis will be placed on strengthening the interaction between research, policy and practice, integrating end-users into research and innovation, and fostering cooperation across disciplines, sectors and borders.
