For the fourth time, IUMI is returning to the city of Stockholm. Sweden is a strong trade and shipping nation, highly engaged in matters of marine insurance. The capital of Stockholm is an unique city built on fourteen islands with the surrounding water being clean enough to swim and fish in the very heart of the city. At the same time, the waterfront is thriving with boats and ferries that can take you to one of the 30.000 islands in Stockholm’s prominent archipelago. If you stay on shore, wonderful castles, museums, restaurants and shops awaits. Stroll in the charming old city with a history that dates back to the 13th century or experience the modern architecture and galleries. Meetings will be organized at STOCC, an unique and modern venue in the city centre of Stockholm.

We want you to embrace the presence of history, therefore we are excited to host the welcome reception at this significant site. When the last visitors leave, the museum will be transformed to a unique meeting venue exclusively for IUMIinvitees.

The Swedish evening will take place in one of the most famous silhouettes in Stockholm – The City Hall. We will dine in the magnificent Blue Hall, right where the famous Nobel banquet is held. After dinner, festivities will continue in the Golden Hall with its 18 million gold mosaic tiles. Dancing in the very same room as Nobel Prize laureates and royalty from all over the world.
Scandic Continental is the preferred hotel during IUMI 2020. Located right next to Stockholm Central Station and the Airport Train you are right in the heart of the city. You are as well within walking distance from Stockholm City Conference Centre and buses during the conference will depart from here. Starting on Sunday the 13th of September there will be a hospitality desk for IUMI delegates located at this hotel, where you can register and get all information needed for your stay, and you will also have the opportunity to participate in different activities organized at Scandic Continental. The committee meetings will also take place at Scandic Continental September 12th and 13th.
The hotel opened in 2016 and the Roof Top Bar Capital with views over the city has since been a popular destination for locals as well as guests at the hotel. Apart from the skybar, there is a restaurant and a bar, and you can also visit the hotel gym before relaxing in the sauna. You are within walking distance from popular destinations such as the Old Town, the Opera, City Hall and the Royal Palace, and also close to some of the best restaurants, cafés and bars that Stockholm has to offer.
Haymarket by Scandic opened in 2016 after the historic PUB building was renovated and transformed into the 1920s themed hotel that it is today. Located at Hötorget, one of Stockholm's oldest farmers markets and right across from the city's concert hall you are right in the middle of central Stockholm.
Located at the corner of Vasagatan and Kungsgatan, you are in the middle of one of the most urban parts of Stockholm where city life continues around the clock. The building from 1885 draws inspiration from the theaters and stages around this part of town. The hotel is within walking distance from Stockholm Central station.
