71st Annual British Microcirculation and Vascular Biology Society Conference

Translational benefits of targeting the microcirculation

April 15 - 16 2021, Virtual Event

Welcome

The 71st Annual British Microcirculation and Vascular Biology Society (BMVBS) conference will be held over two days (15th and 16th April 2021) and will bring together renowned speakers from Europe and the USA to inform delegates about recent research into a broad range of topics in the field of the microcirculation and the vasculature.

Blood vessels play fundamental roles in the development of a variety of diseases including cancer, dementia and osteoporosis; as well as physiological responses such as exercise and metabolism.  The sessions will focus on how we could target the vasculature to provide therapeutic benefit.

As a society BMVBS aims to encourage the advancement and involvement of younger researchers. This conference will promote this by providing opportunities for early carer researchers to present their research selected from submitted abstracts, flanked by excellent plenary speakers.  Themed poster sessions will provide another opportunity for presentations and networking.

The BMVBS conference will provide an excellent opportunity for researchers to present and discuss their research in an multidisciplinary and friendly environment, despite the ongoing restrictions.

We hope to virtually see you in April.

FUJIFILM VisualSonics

FUJIFILM VisualSonics designs and manufactures ultra-high frequency in vivo ultrasound imaging systems, for both research and clinical use. Our company specifically focuses on developing ultrasound technology that has been scaled to much higher frequencies than commonly found in many of the conventional ultrasound systems on the market today. Beyond ultrasound, we have also developed a unique photoacoustic technology to expand on the capabilities of our imaging solutions. Photoacoustics is the combination of optical and acoustic imaging, and provides additional and complementary information to what can be seen with ultrasound alone.

The Vevo Family of high-frequency ultrasound products enables the researcher to obtain in vivo anatomical, functional, physiological and molecular data simultaneously and in real-time with a resolution down to 30 µm. The system is easy to use, non-invasive and fast, providing extremely high throughput when needed. It is designed with the researcher in mind, with system presets and animal handling tools for fast image acquisition and numerous protocols, software and data management tools optimized for today’s scientists.
