Nowadays, the IEC 61850 standard is widely applied in the power industry. The IEC 61850 digital substation is no longer just a theory. Electrical engineers for relay protection, automation and control system need to deal with it on a daily basis. The IEC 61850 Tutorial Day emphasizes the SCD-based testing concept which increases the testing effectiveness and capability for many tests throughout the engineering process from system engineering to maintenance. Demonstration will be done in the tutorial day using various testing equipment and test objects in the digital substation laboratory at OMICRON Hong Kong.
