General Information

Date: Thursday 22nd June 2017

Distances: 50km and 100km routes

Entry fee: This year's entry fee is £60 and is donated entirely to Shelter.

Event venue (where the ride starts and finishes): Sandown Park, Portsmouth Road, Esher, Surrey KT10 9AJ.

Car parking: There is sufficient, free-of-charge car parking at Sandown Park for all participants, we do however encourage car-sharing wherever possible.

Start times: You need to register on the morning and should arrive at least 45 minutes, before your distance start time. The 100km ride will start from 09:30 in waves of 100. The 50km ride will start from 10:40 in waves of 100. [You will be notified of your specific wave time in advance of the event]. 

Routes: The routes have been carefully planned however they are subject to change, including on the day of the event, due to road closures, accidents, weather and other unforeseen circumstances.. The final routes will be fully signposted on the day, please follow the route signage carefully.

Pit stops: Specially prepared complimentary refreshments will be available at pit stops on each route. Toilets will also be available. Participants are advised to bring a water bottle to refill at the stops. There are two pit stops on the 100km route at 32km and 70km and one pit stop on the 50km route at 20km.

Rider numbers: All participants will be given their own individual rider number. Wearing the rider number is compulsory.

Helmets: It is compulsory to wear a cycling helmet at all times whilst riding in the event. Any rider without a helmet on the day will be banned from participating.

Highway Code: All participant must comply with the Highway Code at all times.

Chipped timing: The event will be chip-timed. Riders will be provided with a timing chip at registration on the morning of the event . The timing chip is linked to a sensor at the start and finish of the event and will record each individuals time for completing the ride. Confirmation of final ride times will be available on the day.

Facilities: There are plenty of toilets at Sandown Park. Changing spaces will also be made available.

FAQs

Will there be any changing facilities and showers provided?
Changing spaces and a small number of showers will be available for riders.

Are there any cash machines?

There is a cash point in the main entrance foyer however we recommend all participants bring a small amount of cash with them. Esher High Street has a number of banks and cashpoint facilities.

Is there free WiFi?

There is free general access WiFi available at Sandown Park when in Esher Hall. When you arrive, simply go to your WiFi settings, choose the ‘Free Jockey Club WiFi’ network and fill in your details to gain access.

What facilities are available for those with disabilities?
Sandown Park pride themselves on ensuring the venue is accessible to everyone. Facilities include:
• Parking for guests with disabilities
• Entrances accessible for wheelchair users
• Disabled / wheelchair user toilets
• Lifts accessible to wheelchair users
• Guide Dogs, hearing dogs and assistance dogs are all welcome


Can I invite friends and family along to support me?
Friends and family are welcome to come along and support you on the day, and at the start and finish of the ride. Please let friends and family know your start time and your estimated finish time.


Will food and drink be available?
Please note that food and drink will be available for participants before the start and then available again from 12:00 in the Hospitality Village. There will be a selection of catering concessions providing hot and cold food.

Please arrive for registration in the Esher Hall, where you will be able to collect your rider pack and timing chip.

Riders in the 100k distance will set off in waves from 9:30

Relax in our Event Village where you will find a variety of food stalls, refreshment at the bar and entertainment to enjoy an afternoon of fun and a well earned rest.
