Geneva Peace Week 2021 Applications

As every year, Geneva Peace Week 2021 will aim to enhance the quality of the programme and experience for peacebuilding practitioners, and to also maintain an inclusive space for dialogue on cross-cutting issues on peace. In order to achieve this, and in response to feedback surveys from attendees and session organizers, GPW21 will include a condensed number of ‘Online Interactive Sessions', and the ‘Digital Series’ will be opened up for applications. The Selection Committee will accept the highest quality of applications for 30 online interactive sessions and 30 contributions to the Digital Series.

This year GPW will be held under the theme “From seeds to systems of peace: Weathering today’s challenges.” Geneva Peace Week 2021 nurtures seeds of peace in the new approaches and tools necessary to “weather” the contemporary challenges, while seeking to engage and affect change at the systemic level. Moving beyond securitization: What risks (and new horizons) for peacebuilding
Harnessing the digital sphere for peace
Confronting inequalities and advancing inclusion, peace, and SDG16

The thematic tracks and overarching themes are the same for both Online Interactive Sessions and for the Digital Series.

Appel à Candidature

Comme dit plus haut, la Semaine de la Paix de Genève 2021 visera à continuer l’équilibre entre qualité du programme, l'expérience pour les praticiens de la consolidation de la paix et maintien d’un espace inclusif pour le dialogue sur les questions transversales relatives à la paix. À cette fin, et en réponse aux enquêtes de satisfaction des participants et des organisateurs de sessions, la GPW21 comprendra un nombre réduit de "sessions interactives en ligne" ainsi qu’une "Série Digitale" ouverte aux candidatures. Le comité de sélection acceptera les candidatures de très hautes qualités pour 30 sessions interactives en ligne et 30 contributions à la Série Digitale.

La GPW21 se tiendra sous le thème « De la « graine » à « l’écosystème » : Cultiver la paix et relever les défis contemporains ». La Semaine de la Paix de Genève 2021 ambitionne de faire germer des graines de paix en promouvant de nouvelles approches et de nouveaux outils nécessaires pour surmonter les défis contemporains, tout en cherchant à s'engager et à impulser le changement au niveau systémique.

Le consortium des organisateurs propose les pistes thématiques suivantes pour orienter les discussions de la GPW21:

1. Créer un climat de collaboration : l'environnement, le changement climatique et la paix – des pistes pour l’avenir

2. Aller au-delà des approches sécuritaires : Quels risques et quels nouveaux horizons pour la consolidation de la paix ?

3. Mobiliser la sphére digitale pour la paix

4. Combattre les inégalités et promouvoir l'inclusion, la paix et l'Objectif de développement durable 16 (ODD16).

Please follow the steps below to submit your application:

Click on 'Login & Apply' and create your profile.
To start the application, click on 'Submissions' and 'add new'.
Select the format of the proposed application: Online Interactive Session or Digital Series.
For Digital Series application, select the type of your digital series contribution.
Select the thematic track of the application. If you would like to suggest the track for you application, select 'Other' and specify the thematic focus of the application and why it should be considered.
Type a title of the online interactive session or digital series contribution and click ‘next’.
Answer questions on substance and content of the application and click ‘next’.
Answer questions on design and format of the application and click ‘next’.
Provide any available information about the speakers. Here you can upload photos of the speaker/s.
Provide any available information about the partner organizations.
Provide any available information about Communications Focal Point.
For Digital Series application, attach an example of content that you have produced similar to your digital series application by clicking the ‘upload’ button.
For Online Interactive Session application, select multiple time options for your session by holding down the ‘Command’ key on the Mac and the ‘Control’ key on the PC. In the next question specify if you would like your session to be recorded and available to attendees.
Confirm acceptance of the organizer responsibilities and commitments by clicking on check boxes.
Submit your application by clicking the ‘Save & Submit’ button.

Please note that you can save your application and go back later.

Applications are due by 16 June 17:00 (Central European Standard Time). Notification will be sent to successful applicants by late July 2021.

Fournissez toute information disponible sur les intervenants. Vous pouvez télécharger ici des photos de l'intervenant ou des intervenants.
Fournissez toute information disponible sur les organisations partenaires.
Fournissez toute information disponible sur le point focal de communication.
Pour l’application de Série Digitale, joignez un exemple de contenu que vous avez produit similaire à votre demande de Série Digitale en cliquant sur le bouton ‘upload’.
Pour la demande de Session Interactive en Ligne, sélectionnez l’option multiple de votre session en maintenant la touche ‘Command’ sur le Mac et la touche ‘Control’ sur le PC. Spécifiez à la question suivante si vous souhaitez que votre session soit enregistrée et disponible pour les participants.
Confirmez l'acceptation des responsabilités et des engagements de l'organisateur en cliquant sur les cases à cocher.
Soumettez votre candidature en cliquant sur le bouton "Save & Submit".

Les candidatures doivent être déposées avant le 16 juin 17h00 (CEST). Les candidats retenus recevront une notification d'ici fin Juillet 2021.
