Ecosystem Exchange: Fintech

Fifteen innovative companies ready to take their fintech business to the next level participated in an event arranged by the British Embassies in the Nordic and Baltic countries, together with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK.

During the sessions, they were coached through masterclasses, inspirational speeches, and 'speed-networking'. 

Important stakeholders, experts, and specialists within the industry were on site, providing insights and giving advice.

The British Embassies in the Nordic and Baltic countries together with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK are proud to present a TechConnect initiative where we are inviting the brightest, most innovative and prominent Nordic and Baltic scale-ups within Greentech to join two half-day sessions in London.

15 companies will be selected to be coached through masterclasses, inspirational speeches, speed dating and have the opportunity to meet important stakeholders in the industry.

European Investment Screening - How the new UK and European FDI screening will impact businesses and investors?

New FDI screening rules are now being introduced across Europe. In the UK, these new rules fall under the National Security and Investment (NSI) Act, which will come into force on 4 January 2022.

The Department for International Trade is pleased to invite lawyers, legal counsellors and large European businesses to a webinar about the FDI rules across some of the largest European countries.

Experts from the UK, Denmark, France and Germany will share insights into the new processes companies and investors need to take into account, so that they can continue to do business with confidence.

Fintech sandbox session - differences and similarities between UK and EU regulatory frameworks

The Fintech Working Group at the Department for International Trade (DIT) is pleased to invite European businesses, local banks and regulators as well as UK exporters to an event on the UK fintech sector.

During the event, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and five EU regulatory institutions and sandboxes (Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain and Sweden) will provide an update on their respective regulatory frameworks. The event thus provides both an investment and trade (export) focus highlighting the opportunities the sector offers.

UK – Baltic Smart Cities Virtual Conference

On 7 October 2021, the UK’s Department for International Trade hosted a virtual event to discuss smart cities development in the UK and the Baltic States.

The event offered an opportunity to hear from smart cities in the UK, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia as well as discuss innovative smart cities’ technological solutions available in the UK in a range of areas that make life in modern cities better and more convenient for its citizens, including mobility, infrastructure, health, citizen engagement and more.
