David Wotherspoon, Head of New Geographies
Offshore Wind Consulting Group

David has over 30 years of experience as an engineering professional, with broad experience across the utilities and energy sectors, both onshore and offshore.

His background includes international experience across business and project development and the whole life cycle of asset management.

In his current role as “Head of New Geographies” David leads OWC’s focus on emerging markets and new countries for global offshore wind developments, working closely with the wider company group Regional Directors and Country Managers.

Lorna Finlayson, Head of Offshore Renewables Policy
Scottish Government

Lorna Finlayson is Head of Offshore Renewables Policy for the Scottish Government. The team is part of the Offshore Renewables Policy and Supply Chain  Unit in the Scottish Government’s recently established, dedicated Offshore Wind Directorate.

The team is responsible for ensuring the right policies and frameworks are in place to support the development of offshore wind and creating an environment that is conducive to securing investment, developing supply chains and maximising the broader economic benefits from Scotland’s vast offshore wind resources.

Prior to her current role in the Scottish Government, Lorna worked in policy roles in the third sector, the Scottish Parliament and the UK Parliament.

Drew Milne, Sectoral Marine Planning and Evidence Team Lead
Marine Scotland

Drew has been with Marine Scotland for 10 years working primarily on spatial and data, marine planning and assessment before taking up his current post.

Drew now leads on the Sectoral Marine Planning work for offshore renewables in Scottish waters and was responsible for the delivery of the ScotWind plan and INTOG.

He now leads the evidence and research programme, known as ScotMER, tackling evidence gaps in marine planning and consenting.

Mandy Gloyer, Head of Offshore Wind Development
ScottishPower Renewables

Mandy Gloyer is the Head of Development for ScottishPower Renewables’ (SPR) offshore wind business in Scotland. She previously led SPR’s input to the ScotWind leasing round, working with partners Shell to develop proposals for 5 GW of floating offshore wind in the CampionWind and MarramWind projects, and for SPR’s solo project, the 2 GW MachairWind.

These three projects trebled SPR’s UK offshore development pipeline to 10.1 GW and her role is to lead the portfolio of projects through the development phase and into construction.

Mandy has been with SPR since 2009, and has been closely involved in the development of all of SPR’s offshore wind farms, and many of its onshore windfarms. With a background in environmental and planning policy, Mandy was previously Head of Land Use Policy for RSPB Scotland, the leading environmental NGO.

ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) is the UK’s first 100% green vertically integrated energy utility, generating 100% renewable electricity from 40 operational windfarm sites, with over 2.8GW installed capacity throughout the UK. It operates as part of the Iberdrola group, an international utility and the leading renewable energy developer worldwide.

Nótt Thorberg, Director
Grænvangur

Nótt recently joined Grænvangur. She has held numerous leadership positions in the international business environment and has specialized in strategy and transformational change. In the past two decades she has worked for Icelandair, Marel and Samskip 2004-2012.

Nótt is holds a MSc in Marketing from the University of Strathclyde and two diplomas in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is also amongst the founders of the Association of Women in the Icelandic Fisheries (KIS).
