Partnering and Discovering the Route to the NHS Market

The UK Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) spent £138 billion in 2020, with 85% being spent through the NHS and another 15% through the private healthcare market.

The Indonesia Medical Equipment Manufacturers and Importers Association (GAKESLAB) and Department for International Trade (DIT) Jakarta is hosting a webinar to elaborate on how budget is being used within the NHS; what are the NHS's priorities and long term plan; and how to help suppliers match their products and support them selling to the NHS. The webinar will also explain how the NHS market is open for international investment as it is well-supported by established, pragmatic regulatory and guidance agencies.

 

The Speakers

Linda Magee PhD OBE - Health Innovation and NHS Specialist in the Healthcare, Life Sciences and Bio-Economy Sector in the UK Government’s Department for International Trade (DIT)

Linda has held founding/senior director positions in nationally accredited Manchester Academic Health Science Centre and Greater Manchester Health Science Network working closely across the National Health Service (NHS) and Universities alongside industry. She has a PhD in Biochemistry, and has worked in the MedTech industry, biomedical incubation and biomanufacturing development. She was awarded an OBE in 2009.

 

Arjun Joshi - Business Development Manager, BSI

Arjun earned his MBA on Strategic Operations, Risk Management, Change Management and Marketing from University of Ballarat, Australia. He took on various roles in certification and standard business such as Bureau Veritas, SGS, DQS Certification AUSNZ Pty Ltd before his current roles as Business Development Manager (regulatory – medical devices) at BSI.

Ella Siti Alawiyah - Vice Chairman of Board of Partnership to European Countries Task Force, GAKESLAB

Ella has 13 years of experience in multinational company including German American Company, and earned her bachelor’s degree majoring in Biology from Universitas Indonesia. In 1994, Ella completed her Executive MBA from University of California Santa Cruz. She is active in medical devices field, as indicated by her membership in American Association of Clinical Chemistry and International Federation of Clinical Chemistry. Interested in philanthropy activity, she decided to found her charity organization Yayasan Kesehatan Puri Asih.
