DIT Technology & Smart Cities Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia

The UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) is delighted to invite you on a trade mission to Saudi Arabia.

DIT will be leading a UK Technology and Smart cities trade mission to Saudi Arabia from 15 to 19 February 2020.

The Mission will build on the success of the DIT’s trade mission to Saudi Arabia in November 2018 and October 2019, and follows a number of new market opportunities in which Saudi Arabia is keen to access innovative UK expertise. Target sectors include Smart Cities, Artificial Intelligence, IoT and Cyber Security.

With high demand for digital services, Saudi Arabia hosts the largest ICT market in the region. A number of public and private smart city initiatives have been launched in the buildings, transport, parking, communications and environmental sectors, including by the Ministry of Municipalities. Giga-projects such as NEOM are also making progress, and an ambitious National Digital Transformation Programme is being implemented.

How to Participate

Participants are expected to make their own travel and visa arrangements; however, DIT will negotiate group Hotel rates, and arrange Visas through SAGIA for interested UK companies. Participation will be limited to 25 Delegates, and it will be on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. Each UK company will be allowed one representative to be on the Mission. The Programme management fee of £495 (plus VAT) per delegate will include Pre-mission briefing, detailed logistical guidance, support on the ground from DIT, Coach hire to take the Delegation to appointments in Riyadh (2 days) and in Jeddah (2 days), as well as networking Reception costs in Riyadh and Jeddah. A digital delegation brochure will also be prepared. Please register your interest using the link below by Wednesday 8th January 2020. DIT will then contact you for registration formalities

We will be working closely with the Saudi Ministry of Communications & IT and other key agencies to formulate a high level programme over the two days in Riyadh (16 and 17 Feb) and two days in Jeddah (18 and 19 Feb). Business to Government meetings, and business-to-business roundtables will be planned with the support of DIT, the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and the Chambers of Commerce in Saudi Arabia. There will also be an opportunity to attend the 2-day Smart Cities Summit & Expo that will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah on 18 and 19 February 2020.
