Uruguay as a Hub

Uruguay is a small but strategically located country between Argentina and Brazil (Southern Cone).

Its political and social stability are one of its distinctive strengths when compared to other countries in South America. It occupies the podium in most indicators, either economic or social ones like Quality of Living or Human Development. Furthermore, it ranks excellently in those indicators that imply a favourable business climate, like Low Corruption or Economic Freedom indexes.

Foreign investment comes from countries in the region like Argentina, Brazil and Chile, but also from the most developed nations like Spain, USA, the United Kingdom and Korea, and more recently from China and India.

With only 3.5 million people, the country enjoys an important logistics infrastructure that serves as a gateway to the region, and to Mercosur countries especially. This has consolidated Uruguay as a complementary alternative to the -sometimes constrained- logistics network of the region. In this way, Uruguay offers access to an extended market of more than 250 million people.

On a traditional logistics model, lead times vary from 45 to 90 days. This is mainly a result of a) purchase orders being placed by each country to manufacturer, and b) unpredictable production processes and logistics to each market. We propose you to work from a regional distribution centre, which will allow you to centrally manage lead times and warehousing, and to rapidly satisfy orders from each country (from 1-2 days to a maximum of one week).

Through Uruguay logistics platform you will find a tool to increase your business in the region.
