What is SESAM INN - Innovative Nest

SESAM INN – Innovative Nest is a dynamic initiative developed by SESAM to foster innovation, creativity, and collaboration within the clinical simulation community. Acting as an incubator for ideas, SESAM INN supports simulationists in developing, testing, and sharing pioneering projects, educational strategies, technologies, and research that aim to transform healthcare education, patient safety, and quality of care.
At its core, SESAM INN provides a safe, inclusive, and collaborative space where simulationists can explore new approaches and grow their concepts into impactful solutions.
Our mission: To empower and support individuals/groups within the simulation community who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of innovation. By providing a nurturing environment and access to expertise, resources and industry connections, we aim to catalyse the development and dissemination of ground-breaking ideas that have the potential to revolutionize healthcare education, patient safety and quality of care.

What is the SESAM INN Showcase
The SESAM INN Showcase is a high-impact “Dragons’ Den” style event that gives selected applicants the opportunity to pitch their innovative project to a multidisciplinary panel of experts from healthcare, education, management, and industry.

Lou Oberndorf Innovation Nest Award
From the 8 finalists selected to present, 3 will be awarded the prestigious Lou Oberndorf Innovation Nest Award, each with a €2,800 grant to support the continued development and dissemination of their work.

SimUniversity will take place during the SESAM annual meeting and thus also create an opportunity for students to be exposed to simulation
content from international experts.
SiReN (Simulation Research Network) is a grass-roots, collaborative group of simulation researchers working at all levels—from early career researchers to experienced research colleagues—supported by SESAM.
The SESAM Mentoring Programme is a working alliance in which individuals work together over time, on a one-to-one basis, to support the personal and professional growth, development, and success of the relational partners through the provision of career and psychosocial support.
