Have you got a writing project to move to publication? Perhaps a research project, an evaluation, an innovation, something controversial as an editorial, perspective, commentary or letter? This retreat might offer just what you need to move your project along. The focus of the Writing Retreat @SESAM2025 is to support and help you develop your writing practice, rather than the content of your project, balancing the excellent scientific content and workshops that will be the backbone of the meeting!

To provide participants with an opportunity to develop academic writing skills
To build a support network for furthering academic writing
Who should attend:
Anyone who is interested in undertaking research in healthcare simulation, especially those thinking about or already studying as postgraduate research students. Alternatively, you may work in a healthcare simulation role and want to share your ideas about simulation practices. Whether you are at the stage of writing a research proposal, drafting a manuscript, or writing a report this Writing Retreat @SESAM2025 is likely well suited to you.
When it will take place:
The writing retreat will begin on Monday 23 June at 10am at the Palacio de Congressos Valencia.
What you can expect:
By joining the Writing Retreat @SESAM2025, you will participate in a structured program to develop your academic writing skills. This includes:
Strategies to construct manuscripts for peer reviewed publication
Close in-person coaching
Dedicated time to write (including research proposals, ethics applications, manuscripts) with the option of sharing with fellow participants
Development/extension of your professional authoring network including the option to participate in a follow up webinar
Enduring resources to continue your writing development
Learning objectives:
After participating in the Writing Retreat @SESAM2025, you will be able to:
Outline a range of personal strategies to foster productive writing
Create a writing plan for a specified project
Produce sample writing aligned with a project important to you
Identify and access resources to support your writing

SimUniversity will take place during the SESAM annual meeting and thus also create an opportunity for students to be exposed to simulation
content from international experts.
SiReN (Simulation Research Network) is a grass-roots, collaborative group of simulation researchers working at all levels—from early career researchers to experienced research colleagues—supported by SESAM.
The SESAM Mentoring Programme is a working alliance in which individuals work together over time, on a one-to-one basis, to support the personal and professional growth, development, and success of the relational partners through the provision of career and psychosocial support.
