Adam Kettle-Williams
Deputy Head of Consular Assistance Department
Prior to his current role, Adam was appointed Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Hungary in April 2015. He joined the FCO in 2007 (after previously working for the Ministry of Defence) and has carried out consular work in Madrid and commercial, programme and political work in London. Most recently he was head of the Northern and Central Europe Team which covered, amongst other countries, Hungary.
 
Alison Tharby
Regional Prevention Advisor
Based in Alicante, Alison works as part of the EuroAsia and Europe South Network Team and the Global Prevention Network. She supports colleagues across EAN and ESN to deliver on the prevention strand of the consular strategy. She is passionate about prevention and how a behaviour change mindset can help teams make a real difference.
 
Angelika Chraska-Pongo
Regional Crisis Advisor, EuroAsia
Based in Budapest, Angelika is part of the EuroAsia and Europe South Network team. She is responsible for crisis preparedness, including arranging semi-live crisis exercises across EAN posts and ensuring posts complete their Crisis management plans.
 
Christian Estrosi
Mayor of Nice
Christian Paul Gilbert Estrosi has been mayor of Nice since 2017. This wasn’t the first time for Estrosi to be elected for mayor since he previously held the office from 2008 to 2016. Prior to becoming the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi also served as President of the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur from 2015 to 2017 and he was the First Deputy Mayor of Nice from 2016 until 2017. The current mayor of Nice dreamed of becoming a politician from early childhood and his dreams came to reality. Before he became the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi was a multiple French motorcycle champion. He is always trying to make the city of Nice a territory of the future where citizens will have a better quality of life through many different projects.
 
Christopher Dowers
Consular Regional Operations Manager DACH + Ukraine
Based in Munich, Chris is the regional manager covering Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ukraine and Liechtenstein. He has been CROM since 2020, and prior to this he was Vice Consul in Munich, having joined the FCDO in 2012 - meaning he has a lot of frontline consular experience. He has lived in Germany since 2010, enjoys travelling, especially to Formula 1 races - which aren't everyone's cup of tea!
 
Clive Correa
Consular Assistance Policy Team Leader
Clive has been the Assistance Policy Team Leader for just over a year. He has extensive consular experience having been a Team Leader in the Europe Country Casework Team and the Global Response Centre as well as working on the Casebook project, policy roles and numerous crises
 
Daniel Aspin
Consular Assistant, ETD Centre
Daniel has worked in the ETD Centre for nearly five years; he started a couple of months after it opened so has witnessed the huge progress it has made, and experienced the many challenges that working in such a fast moving and dynamic environment can throw at you. Prior to this, Daniel worked in education for many years.
 
Daniel Lockwood
Consular Regional Operations Manager, Central Europe & The Netherlands
Based in Bratislava, Dan is the regional manager covering The Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. His previous employment roles vary from managing all the cruise itineraries and logistics for river cruises along the Danube and Elbe, to selling chocolate whilst working at Kraft foods. Dan also has a vast amount of experience working with vulnerable teenagers in a social care environment. 
 
Fiona Bauval
Senior Customer Insight Officer
Based in Malaga, Fiona works at the Customer Insight Team (CIT) in Strategy and Network Department. CIT manage the Consular programme of research & insight, working with specialist independent research agencies. She leads on the #AskCustomers programme, and ensuring insight is embedded in new Consular systems, e.g. Orbit. In her previous role Fiona was a Team Leader at the Malaga Consular Contact Centre.
 
Fiona Maxton
Consular Regional Operations Manager Russia, Central Asia, Caucasus
Fiona became CROM for Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan in January 2022. Fiona has had previous consular roles within the FCDO in Ukraine and Croatia, and she has been Deputy Head of Mission in both Tashkent and Valletta.
 
James Moody
Consular Regional Operations Manager Nordics, Baltics & Ireland
Based in Stockholm, James is the regional manager covering Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. Prior to this he was Vice Consul in Stockholm and has been working in consular for around 17 years. He hails from Glasgow, Scotland and will have been living in Sweden for 30 years this year. He says he only meant to stay for 3 months but fell in love with the weather!
 
Javier Gonzalez
Consular Contact Centre Team Manager
Javier joined the Consular Contact Centre in Malaga in 2020 during pandemic. Along with his Team Manager colleagues, they support the 24/7 365 operation, providing first class, first contact for all forms of enquiry across the consular network: calls, emails, social media, MP hotline, as well as supporting UK and consular regions teams. Prior to his role as a CCC Duty Manager, Javier worked as a Pro-Consul for many years at the Malaga Consulate. Javier’s background was the Public Health sector, where he worked as a nurse supervisor for the Andalusia Regional Government at the medical emergency English language helpline services.
 
Laura Caffrey
Network coordinator, EuroAsia & Europe South
Based in The Hague, Laura is the network coordinator for both EuroAsia and Europe South consular networks. Her role largely focuses on organising events and arranging logistics for conferences, workshops, meetings and training sessions across the networks. Prior to this, she worked as a consular officer in Amsterdam for 4 years and was involved in a number of consular crisis response deployments.
 
Lori Ramos
Network Coordinator
Lori is based in Bilbao, Spain and her role focuses on leading the Staff Engagement Group, creating Heads of Mission reports for CRDs, tracking stats and trends, oversight of devolved CRD Budgets, and developments of CRD Priorities. Prior to this, Lori was the Finance Coordinator for EAN and ESN and Consular Officer based in Palma, Spain. Lori also worked in homelessness and tackling poverty for a Local Government in the UK.
 
Menna Rawlings DCMG
Dame
Menna Rawlings was appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the French Republic in August 2021. Previously Menna was the Director-General Economic and Global Issues at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) from March 2019 until August 2020. In this role, she had responsibility for Global Britain, Asia Pacific, Americas, Africa, Overseas Territories, Commonwealth and Economic Diplomacy. She was also Board-level Diversity and Inclusion champion for the FCO. Menna joined the FCO in 1989 and has served in a wide range of Diplomatic Service roles. She was most recently British High Commissioner to Australia from April 2015 to February 2019. Overseas, she has served in Washington DC, Accra, Tel Aviv, Nairobi and Brussels.
 
Miriam Shearman
Consular Regional Director EuroAsia
Before becoming CRD for EuroAsia, Miriam was Ambassador and DPR to the United Nations and other international organisations in Geneva. She has also worked as Director of Corporate Services for UKMIS and BCG New York and in other FCDO roles focused mainly on the European Union, Commonwealth, Japan and the Middle East
 
Pamela Deegan
Consular Regional Operations Manager France, Belgium & Lux
Based in Paris, Pam became CROM to France in 2017, adding Belgium and Luxembourg to her region in 2020. She previously held consular roles such as Vice Consul in Lille and then Paris. She is one of the longest serving consular staff in EuroAsia and has seen a huge change over the years to how we deliver our work and how we have become more professional at it. She was a change agent involved in the development of the first consular strategy and has been involved in many crises over the years.
 
Richard Ruddenklau
Regional Prevention support officer
Based in Barcelona, Richard assists the Regional Prevention Advisor (Alison Tharby). Previous to this role, Richard was a Consular officer in Barcelona

Simone Paissoni
Honorary Consul, Nice
Trained as an English solicitor and based in Nice , working for the anglophone clients regarding tax, inheritance and real estate issues, since 1995. Honorary Consul since 2000. The role has changed greatly over the years. Simone particularly enjoys making prison visits ! Fiercely proud of the adoptive city of Nice and its strong historic ties with the British .
 
Stephen Hilton
Head of Global Response Centre
Steve joined the Consular Assistance Department in 2022, as Head of the Global Response Centre (GRC), from the Overseas Territories and Polar Department (OTPD) where he was Deputy Commissioner and Head of Policy for the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT). Prior to joining OTPD, Steve was Head of the FCO’s Maritime Security Team, on secondment from the Department for Transport (DfT). At DfT Steve primarily worked in maritime counter terrorism roles. Prior to DfT Steve was a Specialist Investigator at HM Customs and an officer in the London Resilience Team formed to test the preparedness of the Capital for a 9/11 - type catastrophic incident. Before joining HM Government Steve worked in the Former Soviet Union (6 years) and the UAE (2 years) for trading and tobacco companies and then as a Logistics Specialist in the UK.
