Welcome to Nice!

The Queen of the French Riviera, and one of the most beautiful cities in the South of France. Nice is also the fifth largest city (by population) in France and is the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes department.

Like with any city and when travelling in general, we remind you to be vigilant with your belongings, especially around train stations. Pick pockets can operate in gangs; one distracts you whilst the other goes into your bag so please be aware of your surroundings, don't keep all valuables in one place, utilise inside pockets which can be zipped up and keep your bags close to you.

Ensure you read the Travel Advice for France before travelling.

NAME BADGES! For those of you who have your wooden name badges from previous conferences (we bought them for the last 3 conferences) - please bring them! They were made to be reused!

Charging for CRD, CROMs and Network Team: Please charge travel costs and remaining expenses to your own respective budgets. The hotel and group dinner will be covered by the conference budget and paid by one of the network team.

The Hotel

Please arrive in Nice on Tuesday 7th November ready for an 08:30 start on Wednesday 8th November. We will aim to wrap up the conference by 13:00 on Thursday 9th November so those who can depart that afternoon should aim to do so, and if there are no suitable flights then you will need to depart on Friday 10th.

You have been booked in as single occupancy with breakfast included unless you have indicated that you require a double occupancy room.

The conference will also take place in the 2 large meeting rooms located on the ground floor.

The Group Dinner

When: Wednesday 8th November, 19:00

Where: Taverne Massena/ Maison Cresci, 25 Rue Massena, 06000, Nice

What: A casual taverna style restaurant with a blend of French and Italian cuisine.

How: The restaurant is a 10min walk from the hotel. We will leave the hotel on foot at 18:45.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE PRE-SELECT YOUR MAIN AND DESSERT IN ADVANCE HERE !! DEADLINE 31ST OCTOBER!

Logistics: Getting to the hotel from the airport

Tram 2 (blue line towards Port Lympia) runs from both Terminal 1 and 2 from the airport. You can purchase tickets using a card from the machines on the tram platform. The machine can be changed to English.
Take the tram for 11 stops and get out at Alsace-Lorraine. From here it is a 10 minute walk to the hotel:

By Bus

Another option would be to take bus 12 (Palais des Expositions) outside of Terminal 1 (to the right as you come out of the building). You have to pay the driver for a ticket and you can pay card or cash. Take the bus for 11 stops and get out at Congres/ Promenade - this is only 2 minutes along the Promenade to the hotel.

SOLO tickets cost about 1.50 EURO and is valid for 74 minutes. You MUST VALIDATE YOUR TICKET on both tram and bus when entering. You will see small machines to do this.
