Dear Sisters in Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting,

Greetings from the sunny and beautiful State of Grenada!

Girl Guides Association of Grenada joins with the general public of Grenada to welcome you all to the 15th Western Hemisphere Regional Conference, which will be held on our shores from July 8 -12, 2019.

We have spent many long and arduous hours over the last two years in preparation to ensure that your stay in Grenada is safe, comfortable, enjoyable and rewarding from your time of arrival at Maurice Bishop International Airport.

We kindly ask each Member Organisation to bring one flown country flag to be used during the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday 9 July 2019.

As the Conference date draws nearer, we urge you all to register to participate in this very important Girl Guide and Girl Scout event as it’s our business that will be addressed to facilitate improved, proficiently managed Member Organisations; and increased collaboration between WAGGGS, the Western Hemisphere Committee, and Member Organisations to bring about positive changes for our girls and young women.

We live in a period when our girls and young women may be distracted by many negative societal influences. As a global Movement for girls and young women, we know we can make a difference. We know we can provide the necessary tools, guidelines and opportunities for our girls and young women so that they do not fall prey to these negative forces. And this, Sisters, is why WAGGGS, and by extension the Western Hemisphere Committee, exists!

We look forward to lively, relevant discussions and agreements and to electing the most suitable persons to manage and empower the Western Hemisphere region for the next triennium at the July 2019 conference.

Best wishes for a successful conference!!
