Hasselt [more info]

Hasselt is a Belgian city and municipality, and capital and largest city of the province of Limburg in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is known for its former branding as the "Capital of Taste", owing to its local distilleries of Jenever, the Hasselt Jenever Festival, and Hasselt speculoos. UHasselt University is strongly integrated into its region. UHasselt occupies two historic sites: (1) the Refugiehuis site, where the rectorate of UHasselt is housed in the imposing historic house and (2) the Old Prison, where hundreds of law students study in complete freedom, but in the past, those who committed a crime were locked up there.
