All accepted abstracts will be published in a digital abstract book from MSJ.

Please carefully read and respect the instructions in order to ensure a smooth organisation and high quality of your participation to the RIMS Conference.
Whether you have been selected for a Poster Platform Presentation, a Poster Express Presentation or a Poster Viewing Session, please consult the specific guidelines for each category down below: 

 

Guidelines for your presentation/poster viewing

Preparation

  • All presenters should submit their presentation (PowerPoint, format: 16:9 (not 4:3) at the welcome and hospitality desk on an USB stick. It is not possible to hand over your presentation in the meeting room.
     
  • The name of your PPT file should start with your submission ID, followed by the last name of the presenter and the short title of the abstract.
    Fe: 12_last name of presenter_short title abstract.pptx .
     
  • Please submit your presentation at your earliest convenience, and at the latest during the lunch or coffee break preceding your presentation.
     

Your oral presentation

  • Please be seated on the first rows from the start of the session in which you present
  • The moderator will call the names of the presenter.
  • Your presentation will automatically be shown on the screen.
  • clicker will be at your disposal.
  • It is obligatory to respect your time limit (either 8 minutes for platform presenters or 2 minutes for poster express presenters).

 

Guidelines poster presentation (all excepted abstracts)

  • It is the author's responsibility to print the poster.
     
  • Posters should be mounted at their assigned spot.
    • On Thursday 27 June between 15:30 and 19:30 or on Friday 28 June between 08:30 and 13:00
    • Each poster has been assigned a submission ID (= abstract ID).
    • Mounting material will be at your disposal.
       
  • Posters should be displayed
    • during the entire duration of the Conference
       
  • Please stand by your poster during your assigned presentation time:
    • Even numbers - Friday, 28 June from 14:10 to 14:40
    • Odd numbers - Saturday, 29 June from 12:15 to 12:45
       
  • Posters can be removed on Saturday 29 June between 13:00 and 16:00. Non-removed posters will not be kept in storage.

Your abstract submission

RIMS highly appreciates the presentation of (research) projects or common practice. Participants are offered the possibility to submit an abstract for the poster of oral (platform presentation).

Abstracts have to be submitted via the abstract platform by Friday, February 23 (23:59 CEST). Please indicate your preference for an oral or poster presentation.

  • Friday, February 23 (23:59 CEST): Abstract submission deadline
  • Tuesday, March 12: Abstract notification regarding acceptance/non-acceptance
  • Thursday, March 28: Early bird deadline

Abstract Submission Details


Submission Groups

According to the sessions of the Scientific Programme:

  • Technology Supported Rehabilitation
  • Rehabilitation Effectiveness
  • Outcome Measures
  • New Research Methodologies
  • Other

During the submission proces you will be asked to select a submission group.
 

Awards

The Scientific Committee of RIMS will grant the two following awards:

Awards for best poster 
Awards for best oral presentation 

The Awards will be announced during the Award Session on Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2024.

 

Possibilities to present your abstract

Authors that submit an abstract will be asked to indicate their preference to participate in the oral presentations. The reviewers will make a selection of the submitted abstracts that qualify for the express sessions or the platform presentation.

  • Poster Express session for a selection of accepted abstracts (oral presentation of 2 minutes).
  • Platform Presentations for a selection of accepted abstracts
    (oral presentation of 10 minutes).
  • Poster viewing for all accepted abstracts at the poster area.
     

Call for abstracts


Abstract submission criteria: 

Abstracts should be uploaded via the abstract submission system.

  • All abstracts must be submitted electronically in .doc or docx format and should be written in English

  • At the time of submission, the material should not have been published or accepted for publication. Encore abstracts are accepted but not favoured

  • References, tables or figures are not allowed

  • No symbols or specific formatting

  • The title of the abstract should include all the words crucial for a subject index

  • The body of the abstract should be limited to maximum 300 words

  • The subject should treat the results of a specific research project, including reviews. However, original data are preferred

  • In addition, there should be a running title submitted with a maximum of 45 characters

  • All abstracts have to be submitted by the presenting author.

  • If the abstract has more than one author, the main author should be clearly identified (fe: label: 'main author:')

  • Recommended dimension for the poster is A0, as the maximum usable space is 95x120. Please read the final details very carefully as these dimensions are not yet been confirmed.

Please note:

General Framework for Abstract Submission

  • The submission of abstracts is welcome and highly appreciated 
  • Abstracts should be submitted via the abstract platform. Corrections can only be made until February 23 (submission deadline).
  • All submitted abstracts that fulfill the submission criteria, will be screened and considered for presentation by reviewers, appointed by the Scientific Committee
  • A notification regarding acceptance or rejection of abstracts to the submitting author will be sent via email (please make sure to check your spam folder in case you haven't received a mail)
  • Accepted abstracts are published in the Multiple Sclerosis Journal (digital version). Authors who are not registered by March 31, 2024 will be excluded from the abstract book.
  • No extra costs are linked to the Abstract submission
  • Late breaking abstracts will not be accepted
  • Abstracts with commercial or political content will not be accepted
  • Posters are centrally displayed close to the plenary room
