ICAS 11 Asian Studies Book Fair

The International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) is the premier meeting of Asia Scholars. It engages participants from all continents in dialogues on Asia that transcend boundaries between academic disciplines and geographic regions. Each ICAS event hosts an exhibition area where publishers can showcase their titles and make sales, but most importantly scout for new manuscripts. With approximately 1300 Asia Scholars coming together every two years, in different locations across the world each time, the convention presents publishers and institutes with an incredible audience - and offers acquisition editors a very deep pool of potential new authors.

The submission deadline for ICAS 11 has passed, and we can confirm that a record number of proposals were submitted for this edition. We estimate that there will be approximately 2000 participants at the event in Leiden!

ICAS 11 will be held in Leiden, the Netherlands from 16-19 July 2019. Leiden University will be the local host of the eleventh meeting of the International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS). The convention will draw on the historically rich Asian and global connections of the city, along with its renowned research institutes and museums.

Booth details: approx. 2 x 3 metres. 1 table (skirted), 2 chairs, waste bin. Additional tables and chairs available upon order. A booth costs €550 (this includes 1 free conference registration; full access to panels, coffee breaks, receptions and closing party; and the option to register 1 additional attendee per booth for €150).

The booths will provide ample table top area for book displays, and enough space for meeting with potential customers and/or authors. Nevertheless, we suggest that publishers focus on acquisitions rather than direct sales at the conference. Just a few select display copies along with order forms (with conference discount codes) will cut down shipping and other costs, such as import duties or handling fees.
